Job Summary:

The Manager, Accounting Services role provides excellent customer service to all business partners by supervising and reviewing the analysis on source Accounting and Engineering documents and the cost allocation into Fixed Assets, transactions associated with the asset retirements, transfer and modifications following US GAAP Accounting Rules.

You will manage the completion of monthly accounting reconciliations for automatic and manual accounts and Roll Forwards utilized for the integration of quarterly and yearly Financial Reports presented by the Company, and resolve account reconciliation variance by partnering with internal and international leadership teams and business partners. In addition, you will develop and maintain the relationships with external domestic customers and participate in governance on capital policies and systems across domestic and international customers and analyze strategic use of international Shared Services to alleviate volume picks by resources arbitrage.

This position requires good leadership skills for establishing the vision of up to a team of eight staff, developing team and individual objectives, coaching, mentoring and performance mange direct reports and indirect reports, on-going shifting priorities based on a dynamic volume of activities, multiple relationship management and highly demanding customers. In addition, the employee must possess a very strong background in accounting and a strong overall knowledge of US GAAP, Income Tax and Property Tax.

This position is responsible for the management of project cost analysis and Accounting of Fixed Assets of > $1B a year which has a direct impact on the Enterprise Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss and Cash Flow Statements as well as a direct impact into the Tax deductions and property tax payments performed by Corporate Tax. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the proper accounting and financial reporting for the acquisition, construction, and disposition of the TWDC fixed assets in compliance with State, Federal and Corporate guidelines.
  • Manage all aspects of complex Fixed Asset accounting operations for TWDC relating to reporting and cost segregations of asset additions, such as hotels/resorts, attractions, office building, and real estate projects.
  • Review of company-wide FA account reconciliations and CapEx roll forwards.
  • Manage various technical aspects of the fixed asset processes and tools, which could include but not be limited to BPM roles, master data maintenance, system upgrade(s), implementation testing, and development & maintenance of winshuttle middleware solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes/Oxley and Corporate Policy requirements.
  • Manage the creation, maintenance and controls associated with Capital WBS.
  • Review of a variety of internal and external reporting.
  • Manage large, complex functional initiatives with an Enterprise and/or global business impact.
  • Review of fixed asset retirements, modifications and transfer transactions.
  • Partner with Transaction Support in developing and updating the Company Fixed Asset policies.
  • Establish and maintain the Standard Operation Guidance for Fixed Asset capitalization.
  • Provide guidance on continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Utilize metrics to drive productivity and provide effective performance management.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with key business partners for assigned LOB’s, as well as coordination with tax, audit, controls, accounting, and finance.
  • Review & approve analytics associated with depreciation accuracy and accrual postings.
  • Develop Fixed Asset team members.
  • Provide metrics on a scheduled and ad hoc basis to senior management/executives.
  • Provide guidance to project managers and LOB executives on decisions regarding capital vs expense, appropriate useful lives, and company accounting policies, ect. for complex projects.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience working in Accounting or closely related field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in Fixed Assets
  • 3 to 5 years of experience managing people
  • Knowledge in Construction related projects
  • Knowledge on Income Tax recovery periods
  • Property tax knowledge and experience
  • Proven experience in ERP system

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience working in Accounting
  • 7 years of experience working in Fixed Assets
  • 7 years of experience managing people
  • Knowledge in projects associated with Broadcasting, Cruise Line, Theme Park rides and attractions, Entertainment, Hotel Construction and Equipment, Hardware equipment and Software Development

Required Education:

  • 4 year bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field

Preferred Education:

  • Master’s degree in Finance / Accounting
  • CPA
