- This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.

Job Summary:

The Global Payroll Internal Controls & Transformation (GPC&T) Team works to ensure a strong payroll control environment across the North America, EMEA, APAC and LATAM Time and Pay Towers. The Manager of the GPC&T team plays an integral role in identifying and mitigating risk in payroll processing across the Enterprise.

Responsibilities

This position has overall responsibility to lead all Internal Controls and Auditing functions for Disney Worldwide Shared Services Payroll organizations servicing TWDC enterprise-wide.

  • Provide leadership in developing strategy for a comprehensive Internal Controls Program, Payroll Auditing Plan, Key Controls Testing and Actionable Metrics/Reporting design to drive overall compliance, process improvement initiatives and business value through information and consulting.

  • Remain current with internal audit industry standards, trends, and practices, and lead Internal Controls Team to adhere to the Internal Audit International Professional Practices Framework

  • Employ analytical, creative thinking, and superior communication skills to identify significant, unusual and emerging risks and develop appropriate risk mitigation at all levels of the organization.

  • Lead in developing and implementing complex project plans that have implications across business units, regions or the TWDC organization.

  • Set the strategic compliance direction for Payroll Towers ensuring alignment with the DWSS objectives and client objectives.

  • Assume decision making responsibility for all areas of payroll compliance and elevate appropriate issues to leader and executive management as appropriate.

  • Utilize superior communication skills in delivering executive summaries to assist with decision making that challenges the status quo.

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and management for the GPC&T team and contribute to the overall management of Payroll processes as part of the leadership team.

  • Mentor direct reports through all steps in risk assessment procedures

  • Coach and mentor a high performing team of Analysts on short and long term career goals

  • Conduct performance discussions in a manner that fosters trust and elevates performance

  • Pro-actively manage relationships with internal clients as well as Executives and leaders across TWDC enterprise.

  • Act as a payroll finance/accounting SME for the Time and Pay Tower, and develop team members to be accounting SMEs as well

  • Coordinate external audits with Management Audit and PWC teams to ensure consistency and compliance among all payroll towers.

Required Qualifications

  • 4 years internal controls and audit experience.

  • 2 years accounting/finance experience.

  • 2 years experience managing and leading a team.

  • Project Management experience.

  • Proven experience in customer service with the ability to interact with senior executives.

  • Ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex business issues and frame up solutions.

  • Ability to give direction, adapt to change, establish relationships and work in a team-oriented environment.

  • Ability to manage through conflict and to problem-solve issues to resolution.

  • Ability to understand the needs of the client and to manage relationships.

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated strong strategic-thinking and analytical ability.

  • Demonstrated strong SAP knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Payroll and Time functions

  • CPA or CIA certification

Required Education:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance or Equivalent.

Preferred Education:

  • MBA or Equivalent
