- This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.

Job Summary:

Disney Worldwide Shared Services’ Accounts Payable provides global support and services to DWSS partners, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant payments in accordance with corporate guidelines and various federal, state and local regulations.

Accounts Payable works closely with Procure-to-Pay partners, Finance and Accounting partners, IT partners, and partners from various business units or functions to continually improve service and processes, decrease processing costs, ensure compliance, and achieve improved economies of scale with regard to payment procedures and processes.


Team performance:  Monitor Team Service Levels (transaction volumes, cycle times, and backlog) and any staffing challenges, and implement and communicate any changes required for distribution of work to ensure targeted service levels are achieved

Escalations:  Respond to and resolve escalated inquiries from Customers, Stakeholders and Vendors.  Perform a root cause analysis of the escalated payment issue and work directly with the Accounts Payable operational teams and Management to identify gaps in processes.  Brainstorm ideas for improvement, and implement changes to reduce/eliminate the opportunity for future escalations.  Communicate to Customer the actions required for resolution to include additional education on processes as needed.

Analysis:  Analyze Invoice Processing and Cycle Time data and determine areas of root cause.  Lead projects and drive process improvements through the use of technology, and process changes to reduce defects and increase efficiency as well as customer satisfaction.

Metrics/Reporting:  Develop and deliver metrics to measure current team performance against targeted service levels and to report success of annual objectives.  Identify and communicate to Manager Changes needed to ensure the highest quality of service is provided to our Customers, Stakeholders and Vendors.  Provide reporting and assist team members with inquiry data analysis to identify top root causes driving inquiry volume.   Participate in meetings with team members and Manager to outline specific actions that will be taken to reduce defects and inquiry volume.

Projects:  Lead high profile projects focused on key initiatives to deliver tools and technology to all regions in and out of scope of DWSS globally.  Lead projects in line with organization/team goals.  Drive continuous improvement through the eyes of our Customers and Stakeholders.  Champion change and implement enhancements to processes to increase the value we provide as a service organization. 

Mentor:  Provide mentorship to fellow cast members through training and development opportunities.

  • Responds to Emergencies and Escalations as a priority. These are assigned directly to the Cast member from the Customer, Stakeholder or Vendor via Email and ticket, or by the Manager or Executive.
  • Delivers metrics and reporting requirements and supporting analysis based upon specified dates of the week/month that are established and agreed upon with Manager or Executive or on an adhoc basis.
  • Monitors volumes and service levels of the team on a routine daily basis.
  • Delivers on special reporting needs or requests with priority when requested by the Manager or Executive.
  • Independently performs analysis of data to identify process improvements to drive efficiency and reduction in defect and inquiry volume.
  • Leads and/or supports projects globally and accomplishes/assigns tasks within project plan.
  • Monitor and ensure appropriate team coverage and service levels are aligned with established organization/team goals. 
  • Analyze customer service inquiry data and determine areas of root cause.  Lead projects and drive process improvements through the use of technology, and process changes to reduce defects and increase efficiency as well as customer satisfaction. 
  • Support DWSS Globalization efforts through leading high profile projects to implement tools and technology in multiple geo regions in and out of scope for DWSS service levels.
  • Serve as a mentor to fellow cast members through training and development opportunities.
  • Identify metrics and reporting needs in support of the operation and identify data needed to support reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior Accounts Payable or Procurement experience in a high volume environment employing substantial technology and automation
  • Demonstrated SAP knowledge
  • Project management skills

  • Proven knowledge of MS Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of GAAP and SOX in how they affect Accounts Payable

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance
