The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Logistics Operations to join our amazing team located in Celebration, FL.   This position will be part of the global Logistics leadership team that manages the flow of information and product for multiple TWDC businesses, optimizing costs and resources while meeting customer service policy commitments.

In this role you will be responsible for the overall success of our logistics programs, ensuring cost-effective solutions, reliable suppliers, and services; in line with the corporate policies and strategy as well as contributing to the customer business strategy and plans.  You will lead one of our operations teams.

In this role it is important we find someone experienced with using transportation management systems, that can analyze TWDC’s transportation spend and propose services and projects that optimize cost through utilization of system tools, processes, and resources.   


Responsibilities:

In this role you will focus on these core areas:

Daily Operations Management

  • Leadership of one of our logistics operations teams: International NAM import and export, domestic NAM regional operations or Retailer partnership programs
  • Develop strategies, policies, procedures, and team to optimize value of the entire function in creating a world-class logistics management group providing exceptional customer service

Network Optimization and Logistics Freight AOP

  • Manage Disney line of business finance freight budget AOP and COC
  • Logistics network flow optimization – lane, hub and flow selection and processes

Business lead in partnership with S&P for logistics provider procurement

  • Owns business/client relationship: current and future planned volume and spend, strategy, provider selection proposals, cost impacts and signoffs
  • Modes: International Ocean, Drayman, Int’l Air, 3PL, domestic OTR, rail
  • Carrier and lane allocations, forecasts to ensure space commitments, MQC commitments

Supply Chain Partner, Supplier, Client, and Team Performance Program Ownership

  • Partner SLAs, OGs
  • Partner and team performance KPI standards and dashboard program
  • Quarterly performance continuous improvement feedback sessions, corrective action plans

Logistics Projects/Programs

  • BCP Program Ownership: Continuously keep abreast of emerging industry changes and innovations through networking, publications, and professional organizations in order to maintain BCP programs that minimize risk
  • Transportation Policies Owner: regulatory standards and policies programs
  • Apply business acumen and financial rigor to lead new Clients, management toward decisions that maximize business performance drive improvements in service, cost or other areas as deemed necessary

Logistics Sustainability Programs

Leadership

  • Provide leadership and guidance to establish a strong culture of great service, trust, problem solving, innovation, ownership, and respect
  • Build the team by hiring and developing great talent

Basic qualifications:

  • 7+ years’ logistics/supply chain experience. Highly experienced in the management of logistics operations. Knowledgeable of ISO guidelines and other applicable transport regulations and requirements for international shipping.
  • Demonstrated success in leading, managing and developing staff and high-performance teams.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to communicate and interact effectively and promptly with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.  Demonstrated leadership skills in influencing departments and implementing and managing change. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals.
  • Experience with CRM: logistics providers, suppliers and client’s performance programs and dashboards.  Experience with Service policies, KPI standards and CIP process.
  • Optimization experience with supply chain optimization models and analysis in order to identify and drive optimal costs and services.  Experience in strategic planning and execution. Highly experienced in pitching logistics programs. Able to develop solution driven strategy plans to achieve goals, implementing business requirements and identifying timeline constraints, and risks.
  • Ability to manage the financial aspects of a department (budget prep and review, FIA reporting and monitoring freight expenses).
  • Computer literate.  High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, SQL and Tableau.

Preferred qualifications:
 

  • ORACLE OTM experience
  • Project Management (PMP) certification
  • HazMat Certification

Required Education:
 

  • BS degree: Supply Chain, Logistics or Engineering Management discipline preferred.

Preferred Education:
 

  • MS, MBA degree in Supply Chain/Logistics
