We have an exciting opportunity for a “hands-on,” data-driven Sr. Manager leader that enjoys the challenges of collaborating to drive results that are pivotal to our Disney Parks, Experiences, and products. The team is responsible for supporting the technology product roadmap behind our beautiful state-of-the-art parks, retail stores, and hotels in US and International parks. The team develops technology such as Payment, Inventory Management, Sales services, and more! As a Sr. technology manager- Technical Program Management, you will work closely with multiple teams – Engineering, product management, finance, and operations to define roadmaps and requirements and ultimately measure results for critical guest initiatives.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Drives capability roadmap and defines operational excellence for Program & Project management team.
  • We are developing a vision for Program & Project management that improves our processes and overall effectiveness.
  • Influences, coaches, and mentors beyond the own scope of the Team
  • Provides customer and leadership support through program/project management.
  • Mentors front-line, project managers, and Program Managers regarding all aspects of the project life cycle and project management discipline.
  • Acts as a liaison between business users and the implementation team, communicating appropriately and effectively with co-workers, customers, and supervisors, maintaining awareness of project status and any potential delay, situation, or concern that may affect the outcome of the projects.
  • Conducts Program/project meetings at leadership and executive director levels. Develops and manages a project change control process as needed to ensure the project team operates within the scope of the change approval process.
  • Continually reviews available resources to maintain first-hand knowledge of where resources can be best allocated. Reevaluates current resources to determine project resource surplus and shortfalls.
  • Establishes clear ownership of program/project, ensures team members have the tools needed, and provides timely feedback.
  • Proactively communicates portfolio status, issues, and risks to executive leadership.
  • Conducts regular status meetings with all stakeholders, continuously keeping the stakeholder’s needs and requirements in view.
  • Works collaboratively with Engineering leaders to maintain thorough knowledge of product capabilities, and to ensure that all communications between program/project teams and its stakeholders are precise.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience, Education Required:

  • Four-year college degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field or relevant work experience.
  • Five to seven years of Project & Program management experience, we are managing diverse teams and complex projects.
  • Knowledge of Project Management Institute (PMI) principles.
  • Proficiency in Program management methodologies, including the Project Management Institute (PMI) PMBOK and Agile.
  • Proficiency with Program management tools and software packages.
  • Experience in delegation management.
  • Experience in mentoring Managers and individual contributors (TPMs)
  • Proficiency in establishing project management processes.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Information Technology departments and operational customers and departments.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from senior management and other departments.
  • Experience in synthesizing complex or diverse project data and information.
