Job Summary:

Consumer Insight, Measurement & Analytics (CIMA) is part of the Finance organization within Disney Parks, Experiences, & Products. CIMA influences decision making with integrated, objective, and actionable insights.

Within CIMA, the Consumer Insight, Social Listening team drives value by developing a deep understanding of consumers and Guests within social media environments that is leveraged to identify improvement opportunities and influence key strategies across the business.


A Day in the Life:

Aggregate social media data through query-building and use of social listening tools
  • Analyze social media data using techniques in Excel as well as various other tools, data visualization software, and manual tagging methods
  • Approach reports holistically to discover, analyze, and synthesize social media conversations around Disney Parks and Experiences into reports that effectively communicate social media insight to partners
  • Maintain an internal database of catalogued reports, investigate trends, and provide benchmarking as needed
  • Provide data mining and statistical analysis to address key business issues, make recommendations accordingly, and produce regular (e.g., weekly, monthly, quarterly) reports for key recurring metrics
  • Create unique presentation designs that illustrate difficult concepts for audiences of different levels
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and platform-specific needs in the social media space

Basic Qualifications:

What You Bring to the Role:
  • 1-3 years’ experience in social media listening or related disciplines in research/social media analysis
  • Proven competency across social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Tumblr, Google+, Snapchat, and Pinterest
  • Experience using Boolean Search Language
  • Ability to develop expertise in complex keyword search expressions, linguistic operators and qualifiers, pattern detection, and regular expressions
  • Proven self-starter and ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data, put together insights and tell a story
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; Interest in math and/or statistics a plus
  • Proven ability in Microsoft Excel, Word, Pages and Keynote (Mac)
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well and partner with people from various levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluent language abilities in Spanish and/or Portuguese
  • Experience using Social Listening tools such as Netbase, Brandwatch, or Synthesio
  • Experience in SAS Contextual Analysis, or other text analytics tools
  • Familiarity with text analytics techniques such as topic modeling, content categorization, sentiment analysis, and entity extraction
  • Experience with market research and associated tools or statistical software (SPSS, SAS, Tableau)

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Economics, Psychology, Statistics, Business, Data Science, Computer Science, or other related field
