Job Summary:

The Disney Financial Services Purchase-to-Pay organization provides global support to our business segment partners and suppliers across The Walt Disney Company related to Purchasing, Disbursements, Controls / Compliance and Cash Management Optimization.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Accounting Associate is responsible for ensuring compliance and reporting accuracy related to Accounts Payable activity, which includes daily interaction with our global business segment operating partners and suppliers.

Tax Reporting and Compliance
  • Assist with the 1099 MISC and 1099 NEC year end process such as total sums validating, manual adjustments, vendor information request
  • Assist with California Audits and California Quarterly process
  • Assist with EDD reporting
  • Assist with documentation of processes
  • Assist with 1042-S and 1042 Reporting, EFTPS balancing, manual adjustments, data reviews
  • Assist with Tax extensions, printing and mailing
  • Records, analyzes and processes financial transactions and information for assigned BU/Vendors in SAP and other systems
  • Provide help with customer services for the AP Compliance group in Fresh desk
  • Assist W8 year end reviews for nonwithholding partnerships
  • Assist with IRS notices, documenting and keeping documentation organized

Basic Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years accounting experience, experience within Accounts Payable
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new programs, applications, processes and provide process improvement ideas
  • Ability to handle high volume of work in a deadline driven environment and prioritize work
  • Experience with Microsoft office products
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated Analytical/Critical Thinking skills
  • Demonstrated SAP knowledge
  • Demonstrated Accounts Payable knowledge
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Demonstrated Tax knowledge and methodology for researching of regulations and updates to requirements.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent

Preferred Education

  • MBA

This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.
