Job Summary:

Disney Worldwide Shared Services’ Accounts Payable provides global support and services to DWSS partners, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant payments in accordance with corporate guidelines and various federal, state and local regulations. Accounts Payable works closely with Procure-to-Pay partners, Finance and Accounting partners, IT partners, and partners from various business units or functions to continually improve service and processes, decrease processing costs, ensure compliance, and achieve improved economies of scale with regard to payment procedures and processes.

The Operational Initiatives Senior Analyst is responsible assisting in the project management and deployment of new tools, processes and procedures within the Procure to Pay tower and assists in bridging the gap between the strategic planning and operational deployment of these new initiatives.

Strategically, this role acts as an integral part of multiple project teams, providing PTP expertise on existing tools and processes, makes recommendations on enhancements, and provides prioritization based on assessed risk, cost and expected benefits.

On a day to day basis, the Operational Initiatives Senior Analyst acts as a subject matter expert on a number of PTP tools and systems, advising on issues where appropriate and often participating in troubleshooting for operational issues or outages. This team member also maintains multiple operational workflows and queues within various systems, ensuring appropriate roles are assigned where needed and that those roles are valid. This includes AP sensitive roles within SAP for users both inside and outside of shared services

Responsibilities:

Project Management/Continuous Improvement

                                                               

  • Serves as a primary project manager for small PTP projects or a project team member for larger PTP projects, particularly as they relate to technology improvements or enhancements
  • Provides data, metrics and analysis to multiple project teams in order to facilitate determining project objectives and/or determining if projects have met previously set objectives and targets

Operational Insights and Business Intelligence:

  • Collaborate with operational teams across the Procure to Pay organization, including Procurement Services and Accounts Payable to develop key performance metrics (KPIs), and establish targets for performance monitoring
  • Use data mining techniques to extrapolate and compile historical data; identify knowledge gaps and additional information needed to complete analysis
  • Analyze and interpret historical data or perform process/gap analysis to evaluate problems and causes for which procedural or system changes are required
  • Efficiently summarize information derived from data analysis to articulate the essence of complex issues
  • Develop and maintain data models for operational reporting to support ad hoc and standard reporting requirements across the Procure to Pay process
  • Provide recommendations on stakeholder reporting to the appropriate team and collaborate to ensure alignment of strategic objectives, stakeholder metrics and operational metrics.

Business Analysis:

  • Elicit business requirements from customers within the Procure to Pay space including both Accounts Payable and Procurement Services, for new tools or technologies, or enhancements/upgrades to existing technologies and develop test plans to thoroughly test documented requirements
  • Identify and document business and functional design requirements for the implementation or enhancement of tools and solutions to support Procure to Pay
  • Provide timely and thorough status updates for all tasks and assignments
  • Effectively prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks without compromising on timely delivery and quality of work
  • Coordinate the testing of new systems and enhancements to existing vendor-supported systems; verify changes meet business requirements

Operational Support/ Tool Maintenance

  • Perform operational support to audit processes and defect processes as well as additional workflow processes impacting operational processing queues.
  • Perform maintenance of tables and rules used for Procure to Pay Functions

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Statistics, Business Intelligence, Project Management, Finance, Business Administration or similar career field
  • 2+ years’ experience in query language and data visualization
  • 2+ years prior experience working with data visualization tools such as Tableau, or Power BI
  • Experience in developing and maintaining key performance metrics for financial service functions
  • 4+ years in Project Management
  • Lean Six Sigma familiarity
  • IT Project Management fundamentals
  • Expert knowledge of SAP Finance modules and transaction code executions
  • Strong knowledge of SSRS
  • Demonstrated computer expertise within Excel (Pivot, Functions, Macro), Visio and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with global stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple priorities, and perform job responsibilities accurately with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills
  • High level energy, self-direction and motivation

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Statistics or Project Management or Finance
  • Experience in PTP processes
  • Working knowledge of SAP Finance modules and transaction code executions
  • Experience with advanced statistical analysis tools (JMP, MiniTab, R)
  • Experience in financial services in a global organization
  • Fundamental Accounting Knowledge
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Higher
  • Proficiency in project management, particularly as it pertains to technology implementation or enhancement, including development of test plans and facilitating user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Proficiency in basic statistical analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing
