Job Summary:

The Tax Data Management & Innovation Intern will play a key role in developing the Tax function using technology. In addition, this position will assist with identifying the technology needs of Tax to allow support to our businesses and the rapidly changing external tax regulatory landscape.

This role will assist with Tax system updates/enhancements (Vertex, OneSource, TaxDriver) and Tax Service integration projects, partnering closely with tax and non-tax business partners (Technology, Finance, Controllership, and Financial System partners).   Examples of relevant Tax Service projects this person will assist with include Front-of-House sales system integrations to Vertex (i.e. Disney +, Hotstar, Hulu), Tax Data Lake expansion, Finance Optimization initiatives such as Source-to-Pay modernization, Procurement Company integrations, and other large-scale business integration projects.     

Make an impact by...

  • Assisting with projects related to business and finance initiatives, prioritizing and managing a slate of overlapping tax requirements, gathering, documenting, and testing (Estimate this will be 50% indirect tax and 50% income tax related).
  • Support tax aspects of major business initiatives (e.g., Streaming rollout, Hulu integration, Source to Pay Modernization), including requirement planning, testing, communication & training.
  • Assist with implementing, maintaining, and documentation of all tax applications (Vertex, SAP, BRIM, IAP taxability, ONESOURCE, WorkFront, etc.)
  • Assist with Indirect Tax Data Lake implementation and design strategy.

Required Education

  • Currently pursuing (or recently graduated within 6 months) a Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or other related major OR;
  • Currently pursuing (or recently graduated within 6 months) a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or other related major, paired with: One or more parts of the CPA exam taken and passed OR, at least one previous internship or other accounting/tax experience with a CPA firm or medium-large corporation
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher

Additional Information:

  • The approximate dates of this internship are January through June 2024.
  • Candidate must be available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) during normal business hours Monday – Friday.  
  • This internship is a primarily on-site position. You must be able to provide own housing and reliable transportation in the Orlando, FL area. Also requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age​
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program. ​
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization​
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
