JOB DESCRIPTION

A day in the life..

The National Geographic Custom Trips team curates luxury, private travel itineraries for National Geographic Expedition clients. Travelers reach out to us if they are interested in altering any of our set Expedition itineraries or if they’d like to create a trip from scratch. The Custom Trips are comprehensive packages which include accommodations, guiding, transfers and some meals. Every Custom Trip is different and tailored according to each travelers' interests and needs. We work together with Destination Management Companies all around the world to check hotel availability, pricing and logistics in order to design a trip proposal for our travelers. Once a traveler accepts a proposal, we work with the DMC to finalize the booking and ensure the trip runs seamlessly on ground.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with drafting custom trip proposals
  • Update and maintain photo collections for various regions
  • Curate destination copy for custom trip proposals
  • Input data for booked departures

What you bring the role..

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical and organized
  • Ability to handle and prioritize simultaneous projects and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel
  • Adept at learning new software and systems

(Preferred Qualifications)

  • Past international travel experience is preferred
  • Major in International Relations, Political Science, Hospitality preferred but not required

Internship Eligibility:

  • All students must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • All students must be at least 18 years old
  • At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.
  • All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.

Program Dates:

  • All candidates must be available from June 1 – August 7
  • All candidates must be willing to work 20 hours/week
