Job Summary:

The Assistant Product Designer Intern will support teams in the development of specific projects and manage a small single category when needed. Assists teams to ensure the highest quality, consumer focused, trend-right product lines across licensing, to create innovative product that captures the spirit and storytelling of our beloved characters.

A day in the life…

  • Develop and design product mock-ups, gather images and layout creative presentations, and trend point of view boards.

  • Collaborate with design manager to design and approve products.

  • Create templates for design point of view boards for creative roll outs.

  • Pull cross category product trends for Accessories such as Jewelry, Footwear, Headwear, Hosiery, Bags, Backpacks and Tech

  • Assist in pulling art direction and assets for collaborations.

  • Monitor competitors, product innovation and market dynamics.

  • Research Initial seasonal trends by category

  • Multi-task and prioritize multiple design projects within deadline.

  • For Jewelry category only: occasional OPA support

What we are looking for…

  • Entry level related experience

  • Knowledge in softlines categories (e.g., raw materials, plastic, textiles, print, pattern, graphic composition, manufacturing)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong product design skills (e.g., 3D product design, technical design, sketching, creative application and manipulation of art, final mechanical art, fabric and trim identification)

  • Strong computer software skills (e.g., MS Office, Photoshop, Illustrator)

Required Education:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship 

  • Currently a Junior, Senior or recent graduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in related field (e.g., industrial design, fashion design) OR have graduated within 6 months.

Additional Details: 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program. 

  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization.

  • Must be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.

  •  Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.

  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work.

  • Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are January 2024 through June 2024.
