Responsibilities:

A Day in the Life…
The Digital Marketing Intern works closely with the D23 Marketing team. Daily tasks will vary from writing copy for marketing website promotions and marketing email blasts to brainstorming ideas for marketing initiatives and building website posts using the WordPress CMS.
  • Write copy for D23.com posts, D23 email blasts, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Work with Marketing, Editorial, Social, and Graphics teams to update and manage content and marketing initiatives on D23.com.
  • Make updates to D23.com and build posts using the WordPress CMS.
  • Make basic edits to images for D23.com using Adobe Photoshop.
  • Ability to contribute ideas for content to be used with digital and social channels associated with D23.
  • Help organize and maintain the D23 digital image library.
  • Help update Synergy initiatives on D23.com.
  • Provide strategic insight into the 2020 D23 Marketing plan and manage the 2020 Marketing calendar.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to successfully prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and other-image editing software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with HTML and Content Management Systems (WordPress experience a big plus)
  • Experienced with presentation software and have working knowledge of PowerPoint, Keynote
  • Fast-learner with a thirst for fully understanding the marketing function of D23
  • Confidence and enthusiasm when sharing ideas internally.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and within quick timelines.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Well-developed writing and grammatical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • High sense of responsibility and confidentiality
  • Knowledge and genuine interest in the Walt Disney Company history including films, animation, television and theme parks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • WordPress experience a big plus

Required Education

  • At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • An undergraduate degree in Marketing or Communications or related

Additional Information:

  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 2020 through January 2021
  • Candidate must be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
  • At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Housing: Interns must provide their own housing for the duration of their internship program.
  • Transportation: Interns must have reliable transportation to get to and from work for the duration of their internship program.
