Job Summary:

KABC-TV is seeking an Executive Producer to supervise our content on streaming platforms and connected television devices.

Responsibilities:

The Executive Producer will manage content creation and programming of the station’s 24/7 streaming channel in collaboration with the station leadership team. The EP will oversee streaming coverage during breaking news and live events, as well as help develop original programs for streaming platforms that inform, inspire and make a difference in the lives of our audiences. S/he will be responsible for the overall quality of the content, and ensure it positions KABC’s streaming content to reach new audiences with unique and innovative news and information programming.

Reporting to the Vice President of News, the candidate will also take strategic direction and work in close collaboration with the VP of Marketing and the Director of Digital Operations. In addition, s/he will collaborate and work closely with all KABC program production and newsgathering teams.

The Executive producer must have the ability to adapt to changing industry demands; be flexible and able to balance multiple projects/priorities, and be a leader whose vision and passion can inspire his/her team as they develop streaming news and information content that appeal to a wide variety of audiences on multiple platforms.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Significant leadership experience in breaking news environments and/or newsgathering
  • Experience creating and managing live programming
  • Experience managing on and off air talent in stressful deadline driven environments
  • Expertise in translating analytics to action for editorial groups
  • A team-first collaborative working style with a focus on data driven results
  • Excellent writing skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing original digital and streaming content a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Los Angeles Market a plus
  • Ability to shoot, edit, along with digital and social media skills a plus.

Required Education

  • BA or BS from a four year accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
