Job Summary:

The Financial Systems Manager – FSM will support Finance teams by delivering system, process, and data solutions for controllership and close reporting needs. The FSM will serve as a strategic business partner working with business process owners, business units, and IT to design and implement new solutions for reporting on SAP HANA while enhancing and creating new capabilities to existing solutions (SAP BW/JD Edwards). The FSM will stay abreast of emerging technologies and lead in the design, evaluation, testing and implementation of new projects, and other reporting and/or system updates. The FSM will also architect the strategic roadmap to address growing and evolving reporting needs and create an efficient, automated, and data driven insight economy within finance and controllership organizations across the company.

The ideal candidate should have a strong accounting with quarter/year end close exposure and have extensive experience in large scale reporting tools, Cognos Analytics, Tableau, Business Objects Analysis, and financial system implementations at an enterprise level. This candidate should possess deep subject matter expertise with financial planning and modeling, external reporting producing P&L, B/S, and CF statements. Expert knowledge in building and sourcing complex master data, data flows, automated reconciliations, and hierarchies. Ability to create business analytics/modeling for a variety of finance areas such as ultimate (APR), capital assets, depreciation, intercompany eliminations, overhead, and allocations are a plus.

This position is a management role and will be responsible for concurrent medium to large projects in a matrix leadership environment with frequent report outs to executive stakeholders. The candidate will also support special projects on an ad-hoc basis. The position requires excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills, as well as an acute attention to detail.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years management experience with financial planning or accounting, preferably in a large SAP installation.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in external (SEC) reporting and management reporting
  • Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated expertise and technical proficiency in report design and build.
  • Working knowledge in using reporting tools like Hyperion Essbase or Cognos/TM1 tools (CAFÉ, CWA, Cognos Analytics, Report Studio, Active Reports) or other BI related tools.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in managing projects at an enterprise scale (> 1 year & > $1 million) and implemented change initiatives as a technical expert within a specified product or process area
  • Experience in service delivery in a high performing customer service and support organization
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, processes and enhancements
  • Established expertise in financial operations, financial controls, GAAP accounting, and financial reporting
  • Proven ability to interact and partner with all levels of management to help drive collaborative business decisions
  • Must possess strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen
  • Charismatic, dynamic leader and effective manager, with a history of leading by example and mentoring teams to meet high profile objectives

  • Experience in directing the accounting and reporting of a highly complex, diverse, international, multi-location financial organization

  • Flexible, “special-projects” orientation coupled with solid ability to deliver on baseline client service obligations
  • Experience leading and championing change on projects of moderate scope and budget, involving localized teams whose success is dependent upon the management of potential risk factors, impacting a specific line of business
  • Experience with direct/in-direct management of a team of high performing financial professionals with focus on solving complex technical issues to achieve specified results within service level agreement (SLA) parameters, while providing a positive experience for customers
  • Experience with direct/in-direct management of high performing customer service and support organization with demonstrated expertise in reporting and analyzing metrics and driving resulting improvements in service levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to succinctly convey relevant information across multiple levels of the organization and confidently project a professional image that fosters relationship building and collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently on self -directed and assigned tasks under moderate direction and supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading managers/supervisors
  • Expertise with complex integrated financial planning models that consists of labor/headcount, overhead, P&L, and inter/intra-allocations
  • Knowledge of GL based financial consolidation, eliminations, and reporting for quarter closes
  • Experience in using SAP or another ERP
  • Experience in using Business Objects, Tableau, and/or Cognos reporting tools
  • Experience using systems designed to manage issues, changes and testing (e.g. Service Now, Rational Team Concert, ALM)
  • CPA or CMA license, or equivalent
  • PMP or other professional project management certification
  • Six Sigma certification

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Business, or a related

Preferred Education

  • Graduate Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration and Information Systems or a related field (e.g., MAC, MBA or MIS)
