- This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.

Job Summary:

Manufacturing and Production Technicians use their hands and tools to fabricate and assemble complex prototypical mechanical and electrical systems that support the designs created by their Design and Integration colleagues. M&P Technicians are often called upon to support complex mock-ups in a variety of sites and to participate in installations for new or renovated attractions. These are hands-on technical positions that demand advanced training and experience in one or more mechanical or electrical trade.

Responsibilities:

MECHANICAL SKILLS:
  • Experience with mechanism design and assemblies
  • Experience with mechanical engineering principles
  • Experience designing simple parts and mechanisms
  • Can read and interpret fabrication and assembly drawings
  • Experience with physical mechanics
  • Experience with CNC programming in G-code
  • ACAD or another 2D software
  • Create and coordinate wiring diagrams, wiring lists and connector schedules
  • Proficiency in Solidworks, AutoCAD and Mastercam
  • Measurement to tight tolerance, cutting, machining, and grinding skills
  • Welding skills including fixturing, lay-up, tack, and finish welds in TIG and MIG

ELECTRICAL SKILLS:
  • Experience with reading and interpret wiring diagrams, wiring lists and connector schedules
  • Produce wiring diagrams, wiring lists and connector schedules
  • Troubleshoot simple assemblies and systems
  • Basic repair skills using state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques, equipment, and software
  • Experience with electronic and electrical design principles
  • Electro-mechanical assembly Skills
  • Experience with mechanical engineering principles
  • Advanced set-up and repair skills using state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques, equipment, and software
  • Produce and integrate wiring diagrams, wiring lists and connector schedules
  • Understanding of UL Compliance related to product line

SURFACE DEVELOPMENT SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of clean-up complex fiberglass or silicone tools and parts
  • Knowledge of fabricate high temp epoxy molds
  • Knowledge of simple fiberglass lay-up, silicone molds and silicone parts
  • Experience of high temp epoxy mold making tools and techniques and master model design and fabrication
  • Experience with FRP mold making, silicone formulation, repair and finishing, pre preg layup and vacuum bagging
  • Experience with complex composite, fiberglass lay-up, silicone molds and silicone parts
  • Knowledge of tooling identification and tooling database systems (TIE, SAP, and Maximo)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Understanding of mechanism design and assembly
  • Ability to read, interpret and coordinate fabrication and assembly models/drawings
  • Comparison of alternatives and determination of the proper course of action
  • Significant choices and decisions without guidance from the lead or executive management
  • Basic welding skills including lay-up, tack, and finish welds in TIG and MIG

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a collaborative work environment
  • Experience working with internal and external vendors in domestic and international settings
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in mechanical fabrication and assembly
  • Minimum 3 years military or industrial experience in electrical/electronic production including wiring layout and termination
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in composite, fiberglass and silicone tool and part fabrication
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in PVC based skin systems (hot melt, roto-mold, roto-casting)

Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • College degree preferred
  • Associates of Arts degree preferred or equivalent work experience (5 years' experience working directly with Animation design and fabrication)
  • Certificate of Achievement/Certificate of Completion (Trade school/Jr. College)
