- This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely. Job Summary:

Lead designers at Disney are creative leaders who look to collaborate inclusively throughout the design process and evolve the way Disney operates. We expect Lead Designers to inspire and work on multiple projects simultaneously, both from the ground up and optimizing existing solutions, with in-depth knowledge about the latest design trends and technologies. This designer will lead the shared Identity & Commerce initiatives that span each of our unique brands. The complex user flows and templates contribute to the ongoing evolution of our DMED Technology Design System and include topics such as onboarding, mandatory registration, personalization, profile & accounts, and cross-product marketing strategy. This will cover all touchpoints of the universal framework design: framing, architecture, user journeys, page structure, information hierarchy, modules, components, interactions and testing

Responsibilities :

  • You will serve as a thought leader, responsible for leading and inspiring project teams

  • You apply your intuition and creativity to build compelling design strategies that fulfill users’ needs for our consumer-facing products • You will identify and build in efficiencies into your design process

  • You will partner with research to inform design solutions 

  • You will be a point of contact coordinating requirements with stakeholders

  • You will define the end-to-end user journey and experience for consumer-facing products across phone, tablet, web, and TV devices. 

  • You will be expected to partner with a variety of teams, inspiring confidence that your team will deliver compelling user experiences that are cohesive, inclusive, well-informed, and on time. 

  • You will work closely with teammates to produce design solutions using brainstorms, diagrams, sketches, wireframes, and brand agnostic mock-ups. 

  • You will be responsible for presenting design work to partners and stakeholders 

  • Your design work will set an example for other designers to follow 

  • You will be responsible for mentoring and growing fellow designers and their skills on the Platform Design Team

Basic Qualifications :

As an applicant to this role, we ask that your portfolio demonstrates:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 7+ years of relevant industry experiences

  • You have an expert understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices

  • You specialize in interaction and user experience design

  • You have experience designing consumer-facing apps/websites, complex user flows or delivered innovative solutions that disrupted the convention

  • You take a user-centric approach to problem solving that also achieves business goals

  • You are hungry for innovation, eager to challenge the status quo

  • You have a strong interest in and aptitude for learning new technologies and design skills

  • You have a strong work ethic, are reliable, adaptable, and work well with others

  • You effectively rationalize ambiguity and manage stakeholder expectations

  • You can communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively

  • You have lead project/s at small to mid-size scope

  • You meaningfully mentor those that may wish to learn from your experience

  • You have expert knowledge of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite
