As a Senior Software Engineer in Build you will work with various engineering teams to design, implement, and maintain an integrated code and asset production build and deployment pipeline consisting of tools, automation and infrastructure. You have a strong passion for enabling development teams to move faster with greater confidence and agility. You are well versed in all things DevOps, and have a passion to help teams embrace Continuous Integration and Deployment.

Jenkins and Chef are part of your daily work environment, as well private and public cloud infrastructures (GCP, OpenStack, etc.). You wear the title of Jenkins Master proudly and are an active contributor to Jenkins plugins to enable teams to get the most out of Jenkins. Version control systems like GitHub and Perforce have no secrets for you and you understand the pros and cons of the various Git workflows and Streams in Perforce.

This position will be a significant contributor to the Build and Deploy team responsible for building the tools and infrastructure to enable Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media production teams to ship products with great quality and at a greater pace.

Responsibilities

  • Define and coordinate configuration management and release automation processes.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the next generation production pipeline, leveraging best practices and lessons learned.
  • Actively maintain technical knowledge of build and software systems to be able to troubleshoot problems with assistance from other members of the software/operations engineering groups.
  • Partner with production stakeholders, identify, assess, improve and create workflow and process for a highly effective content and code production pipeline.
  • Research, evaluate and recommend new technology, software, toolset and best practices for continuous delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years’ build engineering, preferable Jenkins
  • 8+ years’ software development using Java, Ruby, C#, Groovy (or similar scripting languages)
  • 5+ years’ workflow automation
  • 5+ years’ experience in gaming, preferably in online and mobile games
  • 4+ years’ Jenkins plugin development
  • 4+ years’ experience with DevOps, preferably Chef
  • Strong knowledge of code languages (Java, C#, C/C++).
  • Strong knowledge of Build Management software (Jenkins, Maven)
  • Strong knowledge of version control systems (e.g. GitHub, Perforce)
  • Experience with Content Management Systems
  • Strong knowledge of UNIX systems administration and CLI
  • Strong experience of UNIX scripting languages such as Python, Perl and Ruby
  • Experience and passionate about Tests Automation, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
  • Experience and passionate about DevOps and development team agility
  • Unity experience is highly desired

Required Education

Bachelor of Computer Science, or related Engineering degree
