Job Summary:

DTCI’s Digital Media Business Operations is responsible for driving forward strategy, operations and profitability of The Walt Disney Company's portfolio of owned, operated and third-party Entertainment and News digital assets (including, ad-supported apps/websites and non-streaming subscription products). Brand portfolio includes: ABC, ABC News, Disney, FreeForm, FX, National Geographic, Marvel, and Star Wars. Business Operations is a critical general management and thought leadership function that is part of the office of the President, DTCI Digital Media and it collaborates broadly across business unit GMs and key DTCI cross-functional leaders that include Ad Sales, Technology, Disney Streaming Services, and Segment Finance.

This Manager-level role will report into the Head of Business Operations for Digital Media and will support in driving profitability, and manage Digital Media operations and financials (P&L). This person will play a critical role to the success of Digital Media. This group is a highly collaborative team that works in an incredibly fast paced environment. The Business Operations Manager role works closely with key stakeholders of the Digital Media organization as well as with the wider stakeholder groups within DTCI (including Ad Sales, Finance, Product, etc) in the management, support, development and control of its charter and scope with a focus on Business Operations and Strategy/Financial Planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Support oversight of strategic Digital Media initiatives across transformation, integration
  • Collaborate across business units / functions and support Head of Business Operations and President of Digital Media in developing the Strategy, Five Year Plan, and Annual Operating Plan for the business
  • Work closely with Segment Finance to manage and provide analytical rigor for Digital Media annual financial plans (Annual Operating Plan) and quarterly forecasts
  • Develop, manage and track key operating KPI’s and associated dashboards for executive level communication
  • Partner with executive team to develop, implement and refine business processes and plans across organization to optimize performance of the organization
  • Collaborate and interface with relevant DTCI, WDTV and Corporate functions (e.g. ad sales, tech, media distribution, streaming services, finance, etc.) on operational efforts that impact digital media and vice versa


Basic Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in strategy, finance, and operating roles; prior consulting and/or digital, media and entertainment experience preferred
  • Passion for new media, content and digital products
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and matrixed organization
  • Hands-on workstyle with ability to balance need for big-picture thinking with attention to detail
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to deal with change and ambiguity
  • Collaborative work-style with exceptional communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to communicate with executive audience
