The Manager is responsible for managing the Lucas Consumables product portfolio / product categories and licensing relationships to meet or exceed predetermined revenue targets and growth objectives.


  • Accountable for developing, proposing, overseeing and implementing business strategy across the entire Lucas Consumables portfolio
  • Fiscal responsibility for assigned franchises to include annual budget planning and quarterly revenue forecasting
  • Participate and contribute to the strategic planning process. Develop strategies and business plans by product category, retail channel, brand and property)
  • Strategize, identify and develop new business opportunities. Manage the process from concept and pitch, to licensee on-boarding, contract negotiation and contract signature
  • Brand and Content Management: (In conjunction with / support of the Franchise team)
  • Provide any licensee/product information in support of marketing and brand presentations and sales meetings
  • Help define and integrate licensees within wider brand and marketing plans
  • Act as ambassador for the category. Research & understand competitive landscape. Analyze and understand market trends, consumer trends, retailer and industry needs
  • Analyze account business performance and develop/drive growth objectives that are aligned with 1DCP initiatives
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitors, business opportunities, threats and dynamics
  • Develop and implement product strategies, merchandising and marketing plans to ensure sales are maximized and marketing objectives are met
  • Accountable for management of all licensees within the franchise portfolio, which includes contract negotiation, resolving issues, reviewing/approving submissions (product, marketing & public relations) and guiding promotion/advertising initiatives and promotion/advertising initiatives
  • Ensure licensee requests are researched and responded to in a timely fashion
  • Collaborate with licensees to identify and cultivate business growth opportunities
  • Support management in everyday responsibilities such as contract and amendment process, financial analysis, preparing presentations and other projects as necessary
  • Partner with Product Development team to innovate & bring to market compelling new product for categories managed
  • Work with licensees, Integrated Retail and Product Development teams to develop product that meets retailer needs by distribution channel while maintaining quality and character integrity standards
  • Develop strong relationships and work with key retailers and internal retail teams to maximize commercial and brand opportunities
  • Recommend initiatives, provide cost/benefit analysis and an estimate of return on investment
  • Liaise with RBD team to define account promotional and marketing plans and ensure licensee participation
  • Support internal initiatives generated by the Franchise Marketing and Integrated Retail teams
  • Build strong team-oriented relationships with other DCP franchise teams and business units to develop opportunities of coordination with other categories, lines of business and departments and/or cross-promotional opportunities
  • Responsible for growth and development of a direct report

Basic Qualifications

  • Understanding of the CPG industry, including knowledge of basic finances, supply chain management, account management, category management, operations, consumer trends, etc.
  • Strong understanding of brand positioning, retail business development function, retail distribution and the retail environment
  • Strong relationship building skills, flexible and adaptable; able to collaborate, influence and persuade at all levels of an organization, both internal and external
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Highly detail-oriented. Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to handle several tasks/assignments simultaneously and to maintain flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Self-starter, motivated, proactive, dependable, entrepreneurial able to work in a fast pace environment
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint; knowledge of financial tracking systems preferred

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree +5 yrs. of directly related experience or Masters +2-3 yrs. experience
  • Experience from a CPG company; Consumables and /or licensing experience is preferred
