Job Summary:

Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) is the master planning, creative development, design, engineering, production, project management, and research arm of The Walt Disney Company’s (TWDC) Parks and Resorts business segment. Representing more than 150 disciplines, the talented corps of Imagineers are responsible for the creation of Disney resorts, theme parks and attractions, hotels, water parks, real estate developments, regional entertainment venues, cruise ships, and new media technology projects.

In partnership with Disney theme parks, cruise lines, and hotels, the WDI Music Studio provides music solutions for attractions, live entertainment, and more. The Music Coordinator will provide day-to-day administrative and creative support to the WDI Music Studio team as an integral member of the team, reporting directly to the Head of Music.

Responsibilities/You Will

  • As Music Coordinator, you will be tasked with supporting the multi-faceted responsibilities of the WDI Music Team - both administrative and creative

  • Create systems and identify efficiencies in the management and archiving of music assets

  • Compile cue sheets, analyze reference content for accuracy, research and confirm writer, publisher shares, splits, and upload to Sound Mouse

  • Support the WDI music team in their management of all elements of music creation and production - calendars, budgets, travel, recording sessions, presentation preparation, COVID protocol process, meetings, events, and more

  • Assemble and coordinate key project status information, overseeing all elements of tracking across projects

  • Work closely with Music Producers to manage the music creation process, receive files, check for accuracy between versions, compare to notes, upload to shared file systems, share with key stakeholders, set meetings for review, edit music to mockups, receive and double check final music deliverables including pro-tools sessions and more.

  • Assist with general music department tasks - music research, creating playlists, presenting ideas, sourcing files, and more

  • Compile all assets for music releases - files, credits, metadata, artwork, etc.

  • Research and generate internal communications for the potential casting of composers, songwriters, and artists (bios, credits, music samples, one sheets)

  • Coordinate both on-site and off-site workshops and showcases events, working with internal and external partners, vendors, and collaborators

  • Other projects as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years working in music in music across film, T.V., live entertainment, or music studios

  • Passion for music, sense of musicality, and an ear for good music

  • Self-driven with an ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Excellent time management skills, prioritize tasks, work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment and follow through on projects

  • Excellent organizational, data entry, proofreading skills, and attention to detail

  • Proficiency with iTunes, Spotify, and Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Source Cue, Zoom, Pro Tools, Box

  • Strong communication skills

  • Effectively work with a wide range of Imagineers, senior executives, and vendors

  • Manage confidential information and assets

  • Music editor skills, editing music to picture and finessing music cues together

  • Experience with music business basics (music publishing, union items, music clearance, and licensing)

  • Champion the WDI core values and cultivates a culture of diversity and inclusion

Required Education

High school diploma

Preferred Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
