Job Summary:

Join the talented Disney Digital Experiences Team for this new opportunity. In this role as a Digital Art Generalist, you will team up with the art director and will help set the visual look and feel across all the Digital Experience projects on the design team. You are passionate about the pre-visualization of experiences and enjoy mocking up concepts to set the visual standard for a range of products, from connected experiences to creative implementations of NFTs. Your portfolio will show an interest in the creative how and will require a 2D animation, motion graphic, and design portfolio, and general comfort in working in 3D pipelines. You will mock-up and visually prototype designs and experiences. You will provide creative support for daily production and long-range assignments, contributes to group projects, and works independently on assignments when needed.

This is a hands-on position requiring individuals who are proficient in After Effects, Maya, Photoshop, Z-Brush, and Unity. You must also be able mock-up previsualizations, change direction easily, push their creativity and software skills to higher levels, and collaborate with a team of UI/UX Designers, Animators, Product Managers, and Creative Leaders. You will report to the Art Director, Interactive Experiences.

This is a 9-month project hire.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Art Director and design team to problem solve through pre-visualizing concepts for various projects in slate.
  • Partner with Lead UI/UX designer and Lead Animator to help establish a look and feel for a variety of products in the Digital Experiences portfolio, including new NFT form factors and keeping the user experience in mind for all applications.
  • Collaborate with our internal multi-disciplinary team of Producers, Product Managers, and Creative Team to help set visual targets.
  • Partner with Art Director to generate unique and creative visual packages for our partners/vendors.
  • Assist in the day-to-day visual needs of the design team to proactively ensure assets are efficiently moving along their respective pipelines.
  • Participate in creative brainstorm sessions with our Leadership and Creative team.
  • Partner with Animation Lead and Art Director to ensure product vision and quality benchmarks are being met.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year as an artist, digital product concept designer, or similar field.
  • An excellent portfolio that demonstrates a wide range of quick sketches for prototyping and refined, polished design.
  • Understanding and interest in emerging markets such as NFT and A/R.
  • Passionate about their work and committed to their discipline and its challenges.
  • Passion for Disney branded properties, art, and animation.
  • Degree in design or animation preferred.
