As a Principal Software Engineer focused on Fantasy Sports you will be part of a diverse and talented organization focused on building and maintaining complex web applications for ESPN.com. You will be a member of a team building the world’s #1 fantasy sports products working with modern server-side and web technologies such as JavaScript, Node and React to deliver scalable and elegant solutions for new product features and core site architecture.

This position is open to Remote Work

Responsibilities:

· Architect and develop site and application platforms
· Design and build functionality at the core of our shared frameworks
· Prototype new features
· Review code and mentor other engineers
· Partner with other engineering teams to design forward looking frameworks for our products


Basic Qualifications:

· Extensive experience with JavaScript, JS frameworks, and server-side templating
· Experience with task automation (Grunt, Gulp, WebPack, Rollup) and CSS Preprocessors (Less, Sass)
· Experience with iOS and Android development technologies and principles, including cross platform solutions such as React Native and Flutter
· Experience with cloud based software solutions and cloud native technologies such as Amazon ECS/EC2, Fargate, CloudFront.
· Experience with TypeScript, Lua, Python, shell scripting, Go, or other multi-platform and full stack programming languages
· Ability to research, learn, assess, and evangelize new technologies
· Strong communication skills and attention to detail
· Driven and self-motivated
· 10+ years relevant industry experience

Required Education

· Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent.

Preferred Education

· Mastery of frontend web development technologies and principles
