Job Summary:

The Product Management team within DTCi creates content driven products and experiences that entertain, delight, and inspire our digital audience. The Product team manages mobile and web applications such as Disney.com, Starwars.com, and a family of editorial brands including Oh My Disney. The team collaborates with business, content, and engineering leaders across DTCi to optimize our products for audience engagement and referral and acquisition, as well as introduce innovative digital products to reach new audiences. Product Manager

The Disney Digital Product Management team is searching for a Product Manager who can guide the development of content driven experiences across our brands (Disney, Star Wars, Oh My Disney, Disney Style, Disney Family). The Product Manager will also contribute to the ongoing development of features to drive audience engagement, streamline content development, and drive user acquisition for other paying experiences across the enterprise. The Product Manager will collaborate with stakeholders to define business requirements and will provide direction to developers during execution. This role will also work closely with various teams across DTCi, including Technology, Design/UX, Audience Development, Content, and Marketing teams, to ensure that our products fit within the wider business strategy and are operationally scalable. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, collaborative, creative, and an organized leader, with demonstrated success in digital product management.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Management: Proactively develop strategies and feature ideas to improve products based on business goals and KPIs. Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop detailed product requirements in alignment with overall product team strategy. Partner with design/UX, content, and operations teams to execute.
  • Roadmap and Strategy: Collaborate with Product Management Team to develop strategic product plans and roadmaps, from concept to launch, to deliver against business KPIs. Collaborate with other Product and Project Managers on overall Program Management and prioritization.
  • Execute Projects: Collaborate with internal technology teams to define, design, and deliver on user stories using an Agile Product Development workflow. Launch features within budget and on schedule. Fulfill required project management tasks for products under the Product Manager’s direct responsibility. Participate in roadshows to demonstrate product capabilities.
  • KPIs: Define, track, and report on KPIs and success metrics relevant to current product offerings.
  • Quality and Innovation: Demonstrate a willingness to experiment, iterate, and innovate, especially leveraging A/B and user testing to make data-driven decisions. Partner closely with Brand Management, Security, and Legal teams to ensure solutions are accessible and compliant with relevant regulations and TWDC standards.
  • User Experience: Develop a deep understanding of our users through data on their demographics, geographies, and user behavior. Be the voice of our users within the company. Use persona, archetype, and user journey mapping to support thoughtfulness in delivery of guest experiences.
  • User Documentation and Support: Actively engage with content creators, editors, and producers to ensure the Product team has provided clear documentation and training to operationalize new features. Develop additional supporting documentation as needed.
  • Drive Effective Communication: Manage stakeholder relationships and communication as it relates to requirements, scope, budget and time estimates, and feature delivery.
Specific Focus Areas:
  • Grow Engagement at Scale: Optimize and grow our content offerings in partnership with editorial and video teams especially focusing on scalability and efficiency.
  • Partner with Business Unit stakeholders to understand referral and acquisition strategies and offer solutions that ultimately drive revenue for those products. Cross Business Unit stakeholders include Parks, Studio, ShopDisney, and Disney Streaming Services (Disney+).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in Product Management of mobile/web applications, editorial or video content driven products, digital activities, or games
  • Experience with digital Content Management Systems for web, mobile, or video products
  • Passion for using analytics, testing, and research to drive development and create products that users love
  • Experience collaborating with engineers on technical requirements and product design in web development and web technologies.
  • Outstanding creativity, curiosity, and drive; self-motivated, excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with digital media products that engage kids or support digital marketing and social engagement strategies
  • Experience in App development
  • Background in editorial or video content development or native advertising
  • Experience in business insights or analytics, and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Omniture
  • iOS/Android or streaming video product experience
  • Passion for product and software development methodologies
