- This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.

Job Summary:

The Manager, Retail Creative will be a key part of a team of designers tasked with the design and development of innovative branded retail experiences spanning the entire portfolio of Brands and Franchises - Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucas, Fox, National Geographic and more. The Manager will work closely with the retail creative leadership team concepting and executing in a broad spectrum of retail environments from physical retail to ecommerce/digital retail.

You Will:

  • Concept design, retail branding design and development through construction across all branded retail design experiences, including ecommerce.
  • Project management and design development on retail stores, retail guides / Style Guides across the portfolio of brands.
  • Prototype retail stores and shop-in-shops delivering on-trend retail design solutions.
  • Balance key stakeholders, manage Disney IP, and maintain design intent.

You Are:

  • A spatial designer who brings forth concept designs grounded in storytelling sensitivity to the guest experience and passion for The Walt Disney Company's portfolio of brands.
  • Experienced project manager who works independently.
  • Excels in visual communication for brand identity and can work with retail environmental graphics
  • A designer familiar with bidding, budgets, the VE process, detailing, space planning, construction documents, and able to work with contractors and fabricators to achieve high quality design execution.
  • A story-driven designer who can navigate between the digital and physical needs of retail design

Required Experience:

  • Outstanding design vision with proven track record of delivering innovative retail experiences.
  • Hands-on, ability to convey design ideas and concepts quickly to leadership and business partners
  • Knowledge of visual merchandising best practices, with proven experience in retail presentation.
  • Technical proficiency required to standardize fixture package - fixture detailing - and new fixture development.
  • Ability to effectively present and communicate creative ideas and concepts to cross-functional teams..
  • Excellent people skills, diplomacy and collaborative spirit
  • An ability to project manage working on a variety of projects in parallel.
  • Ability to work in a constantly evolving environment.

Good to Have:

  • 5+ years experience in architecture, interior design, graphic design, brand design. Preference for experience in house for a brand or direct work on retail environments, ecommerce.
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite, 3d modeling programs (Rhino - preferred, Sketchup, 3DS, Maya, etc.), accomplished in 3d rendering.
  • Ability to sketch
