Job Summary:

As part of the team of the Corporate Communications editorial team, you will bring the magic of Disney to life for Disney fans, cast members, and employees around the world. The Senior Communications Specialist—with the support of leadership—will work on both internal and external-facing content for the world’s largest and most innovative media company. The Senior Communications Specialist collaborates with internal partners to deliver news to our cast and employees while also managing the content for D23: The Official Disney Fan Club’s stunning publication, Disney twenty-three.

On any given day, you will play a vital role in creating, managing, and editing a wide variety of engaging editorial content—all with a high degree of ownership and responsibility.

You are a “quick study” of complex and dynamic issues who can creatively problem-solve through a highly organized approach. You may have several years of experience in corporate communications and/or as a staff editor/writer for an established corporation or media outlet, with proven experience in driving innovation through influence, not authority, and will be comfortable navigating a complex corporate environment while supporting an iconic global brand.


  • Works with internal business partners, including Human Resources, to manage, write, and edit content
  • Serves as managing editor for Disney twenty-three publication
  • Writes and edits first-rate stories covering all aspects and brands of The Walt Disney Company for corporate editorial platforms.
  • Helps provide editorial content for Disney Corporate Creative Resources events and clients.
  • Works with internal partners to identify strong stories about upcoming Disney priorities key to driving the business.
  • Brainstorms story ideas during regular editorial planning meetings

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2-5+ years writing, editing, and/or serving as managing editor at an editorial outlet or internally at a corporation
  • In-depth knowledge of AP Style
  • Quick learner who can take direction, work under pressure, and thrive as part of a team
  • Can successfully prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Extremely detailed and highly organized
  • High sense of responsibility and confidentiality
  • Ability to work with collaboratively with colleagues around the enterprise
  • Detailed computer skills on Mac (Word, Excel, Google Docs, Project Management software, Outlook);
  • Familiarity with WordPress CMS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of The Walt Disney Company and its legacy, as well as a strong writing background, solid editorial skills, and the ability to create compelling story angles.

Required Education

  • B.A. degree in English, Communications, or a related field
