Job Summary:
The Next Generation Storytelling Studio is an organization supporting the entire Walt Disney Company that is focused on creating new canvases for storytelling and audience engagement in a connected world of physical, digital and virtual experiences.
Under guidance of the Manager, Project Portfolio Management (PPM), the Sr Delivery & Ops Intelligence Analystis responsible for leading the delivery of portfolio forecasts of projects and sustainment/continuous delivery, capacity planning, time tracking, estimate & program/project prioritization & reporting across the Next Generation Storytelling (NGS) portfolio. This role blends financial & business acumen, resource & capacity management, program & project management planning principles, and people management & growth.
The Sr Delivery & Ops Intelligence Analyst will have a high level of proficiency in portfolio forecasting coupled with capacity management skills and the ability to apply historical evidence to anticipate likely scenarios for forecast planning, while ensuring on-time delivery of project & sustainment/continuous delivery forecasts for the organization, along with timely and regular review of capacity plans, estimate & program/project priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Own project/product forecast planning inputs for assigned portfolios ranging from $70M+ (and/or support large-scale portfolio) and accountability for financial targets.
Lead forecasting processes/cycles with assigned projects/programs/teams.
Partner with Finance to provide cause of change for variances and responsible for monthly/quarterly updates
Consolidate, communicate, and partner with project, product & portfolio teams to resolve variances across the planning cycle; escalating risk when/where necessary
Gather, analyze, and report on resource capacity and utilization for respective portfolios
Lead, create, and maintain reporting solutions for portfolio-level capacity planning, forecast rationalization and product/project priorities for assigned portfolio to be integrated with portfolio wide reporting
Ensure Project/Product Portfolio teams have the appropriate tools for project and portfolio planning
Support accurate portfolio inputs to ensure accurate data for portfolio and partnering teams (i.e. Finance & Project teams)
Develop effective partnerships and collaborate with leads across all departments in DMED Technology
Mentor and guide more junior members of the portfolio team.
Drive solutions for process improvements, standardization, and efficiency within the organization
Required:
Bachelor's Degree
3+ years Project Portfolio Analyst experience or similar role
MS Office proficient & expertise in equivalent software; expert in Excel
Thrive in a fast-paced environment and able to juggle, shift gears and maintain a sense of humor
Practiced in the basics of project management (estimation, project planning, resource planning, issue management, risk management, change management, communication planning)
Strategic planning partner for key planning milestones (long term & annual planning)
Understands the software development project lifecycle/methodology
Able to meet deadlines and deliver under intense business environment
Experience working with multiple creative and technical teams
Excellent business communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
Proactive and solution-oriented when managing issues
Able to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of management
Practiced in negotiating with others in ways that result in win/win agreements and outcomes
Demonstrated analysis/assessment capabilities
Self-motivated and dedicated to performing above expectations
Preferred:
