Job Summary:

Disney Streaming encompasses the teams leading the Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star+ streaming services within Disney’s Media & Entertainment Distribution group. We sit at the intersection between entertainment, sports, and technology and seek to connect viewers with the stories they love, while driving the streaming industry forward with consumer-first innovation.

The Sr Director, Strategic Content planning will be responsible for driving release strategy, scenario planning, and calendaring for key titles on Disney+, spanning across originals, global priorities and stunts, and domestic and international plans. This role will collaborate closely with multiple stakeholders across Disney+ and the broader Walt Disney Company, leading short-, mid-, and long-term content planning efforts, all driven by insights. This role will lead a team and report directly into the VP, Content Planning & Scheduling.


  • Drive release strategy, scenario planning, and premiere dating efforts across Disney+ Originals, global priorities, and domestic and international plans, in partnership with core teams such as Finance, Analytics, Marketing, Operations, and International Programming
  • Partner regularly with analytics teams on insights/research to inform and evolve planning and release strategies
  • Direct the creation and maintenance of content premiere calendars, grids, and various other release strategy visualizations
  • Lead regular share-outs of premiere dates and other confidential information, dependent on individuals’ level of access

Basic Qualifications:

  • Incredibly strong written, presentation, and oral communication skills
  • Relevant experience working with data and insights to inform strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in roles and processes that are not clearly defined, constantly evolving through self-reliance and resourcefulness
  • Proven ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities, time management for self and others
  • Demonstrated business savvy and confidence to interface at all levels
  • Experience leading a team, providing clear direction and support as needed
  • Diplomatic mindset and proven ability to work well in a team environment and across a matrixed organization
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Passion and insight into The Walt Disney Company segments, brands and franchises, the elements that define them, and expertise to build further audience engagement
  • Strong emotional intelligence and collaborative spirit
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of experience in a related field
