Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will primarily be responsible for the compilation of executive deliverables and analysis for the PEP segment and participate in the preparation of the earnings release and MD&A disclosures. This person will participate in the enterprise-wide project of integrating 21CF and will support and execute various process and reporting changes in connection with the acquisition of 21CF. This person will interact closely with various reporting, accounting and finance teams in the business segments.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the external reporting requirements including preparation of the quarterly earnings release and management discussion and analysis for the Parks, Experiences and Products (PEP) segment
  • Review the PEP cause-of-change analysis and supporting schedules. Preparation of segment business unit analysis package and various ad hoc schedules and analysis
  • Preparation of quarterly supporting schedules and deliverables for investor relations and external auditors
  • Preparation and analysis of various financial statement footnote disclosures
  • Assist with the integration and consolidation of 21CF into TWDC’s segment reporting, including reviewing current reporting processes and analyzing impacts on TWDC’s current processes and deliverables
  • Prepare various schedules and analyses to meet management information requests related to 21CF
  • Coordinate information requests with 21CF and review and analyze submissions
  • Coordinate and participate in quarterly close meetings with the segments
  • Prepare various ad hoc schedules and analyses
  • Lead/execute various ad hoc analyses
  • Support the implementation of process improvement initiatives
  • Coordination and interaction with segment teams and executives in Controllership and Investor Relations, including preparing deliverables, ad hoc questions and analysis

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel proficiency using pivot tables, Match Index, H-&V-lookups, etc., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong accounting and control knowledge required, specifically with respect to financial reporting and systems
  • Two and a half to five years in accounting, auditing or finance positions of increasing responsibility (including public accounting)
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting and close process

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience preferably with a large multi-national company or Big 4 accounting firm
  • Experience with SEC filings, entertainment industry experience, SAP and consolidations systems experience

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

The Enterprise Reporting team is responsible for The Walt Disney Company’s 10K/10Q filing process and other SEC and non-SEC financial statement deliverables for various reporting requirements. This team also prepares analyses for internal reporting requirements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow analyses for the Company’s four distinct business segments (Media Networks; Parks, Experiences and Products; Studio Entertainment; Direct-to-Consumer & International). In responding to executives, analysts or press inquiries concerning the Company, there is significant interaction between Enterprise Reporting and several key corporate departments, including Investor Relations, Corporate Communications, Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury, and the office of the CFO. This position offers multiple opportunities to showcase analytical skills. In addition, this position offers a unique opportunity to be part of the strategic integration of 21CF.
