Job Summary:

The Enterprise Reporting team is responsible for The Walt Disney Company’s 10K/10Q filing process and other SEC and non-SEC financial statement deliverables for various reporting requirements. This team also prepares analyses for internal reporting requirements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow analyses for the Company’s four distinct business segments (Media Networks; Parks, Experiences and Products; Studio Entertainment; Direct-to-Consumer & International). In responding to executives, analysts or press inquiries concerning the Company, there is significant interaction between Enterprise Reporting and several key corporate departments, including Investor Relations, Corporate Communications, Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury, and the office of the CFO. This position offers multiple opportunities to showcase analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation and review of the press release, 10K & 10Q SEC filings
  • Prepare quarterly earnings release and management discussion and analysis for the Media Networks or Parks, Experiences and Products (PEP) segment
  • Through partnership with segment reporting teams, prepare executive income statement cause of change reporting package and supplemental supporting schedules for Media Networks or PEP
  • Preparation and analysis of various financial statement footnote disclosures such as disclosures for revenue recognition, pension plans and international theme parks
  • Consolidate and analyze quarterly representation letter segment submissions
  • Prepare quarterly and annual government reports and ensure timely submission thereof to various government agencies
  • Monitor enterprise intercompany processes, identify and communicate risks as well as opportunities to improve the process. Review segment quarterly submissions for completeness and accuracy, while consolidating the information to help identify intercompany out of balance, if needed
  • Prepare quarterly enterprise intercompany reconciliations. Assist to manage the Enterprise-wide Reconciliation process for several key accounts
  • Facilitate any IC trainings to segments on new material or process improvements
  • Coordinate and participate in quarterly close meetings with the segments
  • Preparation of quarterly supporting schedules and deliverables for investor relations and external auditors
  • Preparation of defined benefit and defined contribution financial statements
  • Prepare various ad hoc schedules and analyses
  • Support the implementation of process improvement initiatives such as 21CF purchase accounting push down, centralizing and automating enterprise-wide government reporting process, representation letter submission process, disclosure templates and elimination reporting requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Two and a half to five years in accounting, auditing or finance positions of increasing responsibility (including public accounting); preferably with a large multi-national company or Big 4 accounting firm
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting and close process
  • Strong accounting and control knowledge required, specifically with respect to financial reporting and systems
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel proficiency using pivot tables, Match Index, H-&V-lookups, etc., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen
  • Passion for accuracy and a desire to understand the “why”
  • Detail oriented while being able to think big picture
  • Ability to build impactful relationships and have a highly professional client service orientation
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Excellent team player that possesses solid interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent communicator in both oral and written settings
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity and have solid multi-tasking abilities
  • Strong work ethic; self-driven and an independent thinker
  • Demonstrated track record of process improvements and desire to implement best practices
  • Ability to meet tight/competing reporting deadlines
  • Flexibility in hours as required for deliverable deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA
  • Experience with SEC filings
  • Experience within the entertainment industry
  • SAP and consolidations systems experience

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
