The Disney Entertainment Segment Financial Reporting center of excellence (SFR COE) is responsible for consolidating and reporting the financial results of the Direct to Consumer (“DTC”), Linear Networks (“LN”), and Content Sales/Licensing & Other (“CSLO”) businesses within The Walt Disney Company (TWDC). This is a high-profile team that works closely with senior executives. This position will assist the team responsible for the financial reporting processes and financial analysis of specific lines of business and segments under this team. This position will also partner with various stakeholders to support new business opportunities, cost saving initiatives and help the teams identify and execute process improvements. The position offers multiple opportunities to showcase analytical skills to various senior executives and provides great networking opportunities across TWDC.
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst reports to the Manager, Financial Accounting, and will have a primary emphasis in the consolidation and reporting of Direct-to-Consumer (“DTC”) businesses, primarily related to P&L and Balance Sheet Reporting, and other related analyses and disclosures.
This is a high-profile team that works closely with senior executives across multiple segments. This position will help support the team responsible for financial performance and key drivers, including analyzing the cause of change versus forecast and prior year, quarterly margin analysis, by-title programming P&L analysis and balance sheet analyses. This position will also partner with segment accounting teams, segment planning teams, Enterprise Reporting, and Corporate Compliance. The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst role will support new business development opportunities, and help the team identify and execute process improvements. The position will make analytical presentations to various executives.
This position requires a professional that wants to lead, is highly motivated, and a self-starter. This individual must be able to develop professional relationships with various business partners, analyze and decipher finance/accounting data to accurately review the department’s reporting obligations. They must be able to identify problems and develop innovative solutions to further efforts toward continuous process improvements. In addition, they must be well-organized, detail-oriented, and be able to perform a variety of tasks under time pressure and strict deadlines. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the quarterly close process, with focus on deliverables for DTC, by preparing, analyzing and presenting reporting of line of business and consolidated financial results to executive management
- Perform complex key analytics to present business results and key drivers to executive management
- Liaise and partner with cross-functional teams, including Corporate Reporting, FP&A, Accounting, for continuous process improvement in reporting, forecasting, business development, and other operational initiatives
- Liaise with external auditors by providing requested PBC items and thoroughly responding to questions in support of the financial statement audit
- Streamline processes and challenge status quo to effectively report results to Segment and Enterprise Executive Management
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, Accounting or Finance preferred
Preferred Education:
- CPA
Basic Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of public or private accounting experience
- Strong technical accounting skills; knowledge of accounting theory and practices, of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- High-energy, self-motivated, team player with a desire to excel in demanding and fast paced environment
- Detail-oriented, proficient in reviewing work for reasonableness and accuracy, and able to manage multiple requests for various departments
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including refined presentation skills
- Ability to adapt quickly, work autonomously, take ownership, and work in a flexible team environment
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency using Excel (pivot tables, Match Index, H-&V-lookups, etc.)
- Professional demeanor, focused, articulate, and well-organized
- Flexibility in hours as required for deliverable deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with a public Top-Tier accounting firm is a bonus
- Experience with Film and TV accounting/reporting processes is a bonus
- Experience with SAP is a bonus

The hiring range for this position in California is $101,790.00-$124,410.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
