D23, The Official Disney Fan Club is looking for a seasoned marketer with proven success in acquisition, loyalty, and retention, to manage our day-to-day marketing efforts. Heading into its 10th year, D23 celebrates and engages with Disney’s biggest fans 365 days a year through cross country events, a printed publication, ongoing partner offers, daily digital and social platforms, and various campaigns to celebrate company milestones, priorities, and more.

This role will work closely with the Director of Marketing to strategize and maintain a holistic approach for the fan club with a focus on both maintaining and retaining our current active base as well as expanding our growth with new membership, new offerings, and new benefits. This is a truly collaborative role and requires a team player with experience managing integrated plans for multiple key stakeholders. Strong written and oral communication skills are a must and previous experience in business development, partnership marketing, pitching/selling and sponsorships as well as regional and global marketing are a plus!

D23 is the official Disney fan club. Named in honor of the year 1923, when Walt left Kansas City, headed for Hollywood and founded what would become the Disney Studios, D23 celebrates the wonder and excitement that began that year and has only increased over the decades as Disney’s stories, characters, songs, and experiences have captured imaginations the world over.


Roles & Responsibilities

Membership Acquisition and Engagement
  • Support Director on development of the official D23 planning calendar (campaigns, priorities, content and various initiatives throughout the year) focused on brand priorities
  • Monitor seasonality, company and segment thematic, and D23 priorities to further strategize and implement within annual plans
  • Manage day to day executions and campaigns focused on membership and retention
  • Strategize ways to maximize membership offering and connect with our fans across the country (as well as globally) – bringing the D23 experience to them locally, digitally, etc.
  • Consider global marketing opportunities and international expansion as future goals are established
Campaign Management
  • Work closely with Director to develop a comprehensive, targeted marketing and promotional campaigns for D23. Support the launch and sustain marketing efforts for new business initiatives.
  • Create Campaign briefs encompassing goals, objects, themes, highlights, tone, and key details
  • Coordinate timely delivery of various marketing campaign materials to multiple production and communication vehicles.
  • Manage all day to day of campaign execution and timeline and lead campaign focused meetings
  • Partner with product and digital department to develop and manage online and print campaigns
  • Management of marketing budget for specific campaigns and annual priorities
  • Manage output of marketing related reporting, analytics, and key learns (weekly reports, campaign wraps, sponsor decks) and work with internal partner resources and 3rd party tools, as needed, to leverage additional tracking and reporting tools and insights. Provide D23 insight and direction on integrated programs that deliver maximum impact for business growth
Customer Retention (Social Platforms, e-Newsletter, Retention Campaigns)
  • Create social strategy in conjunction with the digital team and digital strategy
  • Manage social engagement platforms while working in partnership with fellow marketing, content, and digital team members on content integration and roll out
  • Monitor engagement and marketing priorities (ie. Campaigns, Partners, Retention and Acquisition goals) within social platforms and conversations
  • Manage strategy and execution of our weekly fan enewsletter, Fanfare, identifying content, CTA, campaign and priority integration, and retention goals.
  • Partner with content and editorial to leverage copy, articles, and assets for newsletter development
  • Partner with graphics and digital on development and deployment of the weekly send and reporting
Enhancement Opportunities, Analytics & Reporting
  • Work closely with Digital team on digital enhancement projects (e.g. Membership Sign Up Process, capability improvements)
  • Identify new fan acquisition and engagement platforms, technology, and tools to incorporate into overall planning and campaign executions.
  • Monitor industry trends, consumer behaviors, and best practices to bring innovation to plans and execution.
  • Support Director on D23 Partner and Sponsor pitches, proposals, and reporting needs
  • Manage third party relationships and new business development opportunities

Basic Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of Marketing experience with management of customer retention, engagement, and acquisition as part of previous purview
  • Proven success in integrated marketing strategy and implementation
  • Strong written and oral skills specific to pitches, presentations, and promotions.
  • Strong examples of ROI focus campaign planning efforts
  • Experience in global efforts and international marketing a plus
  • Must have a strong understanding of consumer behavior and past experience working with Disney’s Best Guests, Loyalty programs, and/or high affinity fans
  • Previous experience planning and managing paid media and campaign budgets
  • Strong understanding of grassroots and organic/earned asset leveraging, synergy opportunities across TWDC and 3rd party relationships

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
