The Next Generation Storytelling Studio is an organization supporting the entire Walt Disney Company that is focused on creating new canvases for storytelling and audience engagement in a connected world of physical, digital and virtual experiences.
The Next Generation Storytelling Studio is seeking a strong leader to lead our Program Management team who will drive exceptional delivery on innovative and next generation programs across the Walt Disney Company. This candidate is skilled at the art of bringing a diverse set of team members and stakeholders together to determine scope, plan out the work needed, monitor, and communicate progress and pro-actively manage risks, issues, and dependencies.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled cross-functional collaborator, with experience in emerging technology and consumer-oriented technology services. The role requires a solid foundation in program management, project management, cross-functional team collaboration, and the ability to rapidly synthesize complex information and drive development across multiple stakeholder groups.
Organizing and planning comes instinctively. This person is working in partnership with product and engineering to clear obstacles, drive progress and make sure everyone is clearly informed on status and the critical path. This person is a strong communicator, comfortable interacting with engineering teams as well as executive leadership.
Develop the end to end delivery model for the Next Generation Storytelling Studio that including initiation, planning, delivery and launch processes.
Drive execution and delivery of multiple programs and projects from start to finish
Create and collaboration on the Next Generation Storytelling communications plan and ensure it is being followed by all teams
Distill business and product requirements into actionable, detailed specifications for the team members
Create complete project and deployment plans for end-to-end delivery with appropriate documentation.
Estimate, manage and track the program financial forecasts and budgets
Provide guidance for end to end testing and the triage of bug defects
Partner with business and technical teams to launch new features and enhancements using an agile approach quickly and efficiently
Continuously monitor and report on program execution to the teams, program leadership, executive management, and external stakeholders
Forecast, manage and pro-actively escalate and mitigate risks and issues
Build strong relationships across engineering, product, and stakeholder teams
Entrepreneurial mindset identifying and developing new business opportunities
Interact and build consensus with a diverse set of technical and non-technical stakeholders
BA/BS or equivalent experience required
10 or more years of progressively complex related program/project management experience in a technical setting
3+ years of management experience
CSM, PMP Certification preferred
5+ years’ experience in the media industry, preferably with experience in digital products and emerging technology.
Experience managing programs with budgets exceeding 20M
Strong team player who is also an independent thinker; effective at building relationships, collaborating, and influencing others; experience working with senior executives across various geographies and functions.
Understanding of software development model including Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban methodologies
Knowledge and experience with the software development life cycle & system integration projects; experience in advertising platforms or media preferred
Knowledge of program management, analysis and reporting tools, JIRA/Confluence, Smartsheet
