What you’ll do
We’re looking for a talented, and team-oriented Senior Product Designer to join our Los Angeles based product design team. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and will thrive upon the legacy of our company while embracing unconventional thinking. Above all we are seeking an individual who is passionate about contributing to The Walt Disney Company’s direct-to-consumer experience through strategic hard-work and determination.
As a Senior Product Designer for the Artwork and Design Systems team, you will actively influence and evolve our design processes. You will be a subject matter expert, often representing our team and working cross-functionally to drive new team initiatives. You will have a deep understanding of a network of design tools used across our workflows, and will help the team leverage them to improve the way we work. You will drive innovation within our internal processes, and will implement artwork workflows within our creative asset management system, working closely with our technology partners. You will help to iterate on solutions for design process challenges and work cross-functionally to implement your ideas. You will champion our team priorities and work with leadership to align and evolve initiatives that you will drive across a wide network of business partners.
Regularly meet with product design team members to discuss process pain points and capture feedback on existing design tools / processes
Drive alignment across business partners to help formalize new artwork initiatives (i.e. Live events)
Thoroughly understand the Artwork teams processes and workflows and help to evolve them to address unique challenges as they arise
Build collaborative relationships across a complex network of stakeholders across Studios and Disney Streaming.
Work closely with a cross-functional team of designers, software engineers, product managers, and business owners through all product development phases.
Identify opportunities to improve current artwork design processes while holistically considering the impact to associated teams within the org.
Regularly align on priorities with senior leadership and collect buy-in on projects & initiatives.
Document meetings & opportunities, mapping project plans that include clear milestones and action items, documenting them in our team trackers.
Make informed decisions based on deep knowledge of design principles and creative processes.
Support team with process improvement by thoroughly understanding design tools, artwork assets and automation opportunities.
Embrace project tracking, sharing information with the broader team, using tools to ideate, set action items, identify key milestones and track progress.
Effectively communicate (both written and verbally) with senior stakeholders, providing clear feedback and direction that is considerate of team politics/sensitivities.
Help troubleshoot design process modifications including (but not limited to) artwork automation.
Maintain a solid understanding of the Product Design (artwork) specifications and guidelines.
Offer creative/production design support on an as needed basis (building out product artwork packages & collections)
Actively research design tools and consider how they may offer solutions to our design challenges

WHAT TO BRING
Experience presenting to, working and collaborating with executives
Experience working across teams in a complex organization
Previous experience working within and improving design processes
Hands-on experience creating high-quality artwork for the media industry
Design background with demonstrated eye for high quality design and an understanding of design principles.
Direct experience championing and evangelizing design principles in order to achieve a high-quality artwork design experience
Ability to navigate through ambiguity, identify key opportunities, map out action items and track progress.
ExperienceSensitivity to handling of studio-based imagery and high-sensitivity studio assets and the many facets of legality associated
Proven strategic ability adapting design processes.
