Senior Product Designer, Studio Liaison

The Walt Disney Company launched a Disney-branded streaming service in 2019 featuring an incomparable collection of content from its brands and franchises recognized and respected all over the world. The direct-to-consumer (DTC) service will serve as the exclusive home for viewing original movies, series, short-form, and more, along with a vibrant catalog that spans classic Disney Animation to the most recent movie releases. 

We’re looking for a talented, and team-oriented product designer to join our product design team. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and will thrive upon the legacy of our company while embracing unconventional thinking. Above all we are seeking an individual who is passionate about contributing to The Walt Disney Company’s direct-to-consumer experience through strategic hard-work and determination.

As a Senior Product Designer with a focus on Studio Relations for the Artwork and Design Systems team, you’ll be driving improved collaboration with our Studio and Franchise partners.  You will be regularly meeting with stakeholders across Studios and Franchise to champion the strategy  of improving our Product Experience through the best quality artwork.  Through understanding the different studio teams and their processes and priorities, you’ll help build trust and  stronger bonds between our teams. You will continually identify areas for improvement, propose solutions and work with leadership to drive effective change to our team’s processes.  You’ll work closely with the Artwork team to thoroughly understand their internal design processes as well as our Products’ Design Spec and Creative Guidelines.  You will have a holistic understanding of the complete artwork pipeline with a focus on the creative/strategic marketing workflows as well as the User-Experience driven by the artwork.  By embracing innovation such as automation, you will offer practical solutions to design problems. As a product design advocate, you will help to educate our partners in the complexities of designing high-quality product artwork as well as how our streaming platforms can best elevate their content.  By using our team task trackers you will document your learnings with studios, continually ideate collaborative solutions, and translate those ideas into action while helping share knowledge with the rest of our teams. 


  • Regularly meet with senior studio stakeholders to advocate for product needs and troubleshoot/resolve Artwork design process pain points.

  • Seek opportunities with Studios to engage the Artwork team in creative campaigns earlier in marketing processes.

  • Build collaborative relationships across a complex network of stakeholders across Studios and Disney Streaming.

  • Identify opportunities to improve current studio collaboration while holistically considering the impact to associated teams within the org.

  • Regularly align on priorities with leadership and collect buy-in on studio proposals & initiatives.

  • Document meetings, opportunities, and education of studios  with clear milestones and action items, documenting them in our team trackers. 

  • Create presentations and document examples that reinforce our creative guidelines and help demonstrate how artwork can perform best on our products.

  • This individual will need to drive meaningful cross-functional artwork and studio strategy solutions by fully understanding stakeholder needs and getting stakeholder buy-in.

  • Embrace project tracking to share information with the broader team, set action items, identify key milestones and track progress.

  • Effectively communicate (both written and verbally) with senior studio stakeholders, providing clear feedback and direction that is considerate of team politics/sensitivities.

  • As a subject matter expert, regularly educate studio stakeholders on the artwork spec as well as the broader product. 

  • Maintain a solid understanding of the Product Design (artwork) specifications and guidelines.

  • Empower the Artwork team by sharing studio/franchise knowledge

  • Work closely with the artwork team, thoroughly understanding their processes and team bandwidth.

  • Offer creative/production design support on an as needed basis (building out product artwork packages & collections)


  • Experience working with film studios, studio marketing teams, or creative studios.

  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Experience presenting to, working and collaborating with executives

  • Experience working across teams in a complex organization

  • Hands-on experience creating high-quality artwork for the media industry

  • Direct experience championing design principles in order to achieve a high-quality artwork design experience

  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity, identify key opportunities, map out action items and track progress.

  • Professional experience with creating and managing digital content assets in the media/entertainment industry for (mobile, web, TV) is a significant advantage

  • Experience handling high-sensitivity studio assets 

  • Experience in the business of digital subscription services, a bonus

  • Proven strategic ability adapting design processes.

  • A love of television, film, and entertainment.

  • Studio marketing experience is a huge plus.

  • Smart, conceptual, confident, competent, adaptable, proactive, and results-oriented.

  • Confident ability to present to executives, inspire and drive agendas

  • Earnest, mature, and ego-free; you welcome candid feedback, and can constructively give it as well.

  • You have an innate passion for learning new software design technologies and trends.
