Job Description:

We are looking for a talented Senior Product Manager to join our dynamic team supporting the Studio’s media supply chain including planning, ordering and media fulfillment. As a Product Manager you will own a vertical of product applications end-to-end: shape product value proposition, drive execution, and solve stakeholder problems across TWDS. The nature of work will be varied, ranging from complex inbound requests to large strategic bets. This is an individual contributor position; it fits well for those who enjoy hands-on product work while owning product strategy. You will act as a liaison between executive business stakeholders and the technology team, translating business needs into functional requirements and ensuring that our products meet high standards of quality and user expectations. Scope of role includes product ownership of an entire vertical of technical components, but also horizontally partnering with teams across Disney.

Responsibilities:

  • Deep Market Understanding: We believe the foundation for all excellent product management is the ability to live alongside customers, develop relationships, and understand their goals + pain points. This will also require identifying customer needs, a competitive landscape, emerging trends to inform product strategy.
  • Product Vision & Roadmap Development: Defining a clear product value proposition, maintaining a product backlog, and prioritizing features based on business goals and user feedback.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Leading and collaborating with executive cross-functional teams including engineering, design, operations, and customer success teams to ensure smooth product development and execution. This role will include participation and reporting to executive steering committees.
  • User Research & Feedback Analysis: actively gather and analyze user feedback through interviews, surveys, and usage data to drive product improvements.
  • Product Launch Strategy: Developing and executing successful product/feature launch strategy including product enablement/launch.
  • Metric & Performance Monitoring: Defining key performance indicators (KPIs), tracking product performance, and making data-influences decision to optimize support of the Media Platforms & App vision established by Sr. Leaders.
  • Technical Understanding: Good understanding of technical products and effectively communicating product needs to the development team. Craft well-constructed technical user stories based on business goals, developer feedback, and personal expertise
  • Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicating product plans and updates to key stakeholders, including senior leadership, ensuring alignment across OKRs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Soft skills: Excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, problem solving skills, customer focus
  • Prior experience in an agile development environment, with a solid understanding of SCRUM principles and methodologies
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities 
  • Proficient in translating complex concepts and requests between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable working independently or collaboratively within cross-functional teams
  • Capable of analyzing existing datasets to uncover actionable insights 

Preferred:

  • Previous experience as the analyst or associate technical product manager for a technical product team
  • Previous experience developing or supporting a video streaming platform
  • An understanding of the digital media supply chain including planning, ordering and fulfillment, ideally in within the context of a studio or another media and entertainment organization
  • Comfortable with common AWS products and architecture
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret technical standards and specifications

The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $126,400.00-$169,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
