The Senior Consultant, Organizational Development (OD) serves as a key partner to HR Business Partners and executive leaders throughout Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media (DCPI), and is an integral member of the Organizational and Talent Effectiveness (OTE) Team within HR. The role is based in Glendale, CA and reports to the Manager, Organizational Development.

Responsibilities

OD Work:
  • Design and implement change and transition strategies that enable business growth, transition and continued evolution
  • Partner closely with leaders, HR Business Partners and/or other members of the OD team to help set strategy, improve governance and processes, redesign organizational structures, clarify roles and responsibilities, and lead change throughout DCPI
  • Leverage and synthesize data from various sources in order to recommend solutions for the organization and team
  • Prepare presentations, deliverables, and other work products associated with OD projects and initiatives to be delivered to management and senior executives
  • Assist with designing and utilizing OD frameworks, methodologies, and tools
  • Maintain current knowledge of HR/OD best practices, industry trends, and economic trends that will improve the work of the OD team and support client insights
  • Support key DCPI and TWDC Enterprise initiatives (e.g. DAchieve – new performance management change initiative) in partnership with other OTE functions such as Learning, Talent Management & Development


Employee Experience Pulsing:

  • Help drive a consumer-focused approach and real-time insights to enable a high performing and engaged DCPI team.
  • Partner closely with other members of the OTE team to align pulsing efforts with the larger DCPI culture/employee experience strategy
  • Partner with the Workforce Analytics team to develop and implement plans to gather, connect, and analyze data that measures and prioritizes the employee experience
  • Partner with owners of key initiatives in HR and in the business to develop and deliver holistic pulsing strategies

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 years of OD or Human Capital consulting (or equivalent) experience
  • Ability to effectively and pragmatically apply OD approaches to meet stakeholder needs
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen and a track record of success in partnering with business leaders
  • Excellent project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception through completion while bringing stakeholders along
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to accomplish assignments with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in and manage ambiguity – dealing with issues/areas that do not always have a process or a system in place
  • Ability to focus on critical issues to balance and respond to competing priorities
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic and consulting skills
  • Excellent relationship building, interpersonal and influence skills with clients and colleagues

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in the field of Organizational Development, Organizational Behaviors, Human Resources Management, or Business-related fields

Preferred Education

  • Advanced Degree - PhD or MA/MS in Industrial Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behaviors, Organizational Development/Effectiveness, or related field; MBA
