Job Summary:

Senior Software Engineer

As a member of Studio Technology’s Video Platform Team, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of products and software solutions supporting our production and marketing teams.

You will be instrumental in building scalable technology platforms that can be leveraged to create a multitude of software products & applications that will help our Studio make and market our films. These products will involve digital assets, creative pieces, 3d models, complex workflows, secure file transfer, storage and much more. Software you launch may be used by talent on set during filming, studio operations preparing content, or marketing teams engaging with fans.

  • Work collaboratively with a team of talented software engineers and subject matter experts to design, build, test and deploy software solutions.
  • Work closely with engineers that are experienced in video mastering, encoding, Digital Rights Management, Quality Control and video delivery to create tools and automate processes.
  • Work with other engineers to build out services/APIs required for various applications.
  • Work within an agile scrum process to prioritize and estimate work in user stories.
  • Make development decisions based on resources, requirements, and complexity.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years industry experience
  • Able to design and implement scalable REST APIs
  • Strong Java developer with experience building Spring Boot applications
  • Experience with JavaScript, ES6, and Node.js
  • Experience working with databases: PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience using source control and CI: GitLab, GitHub
  • Team player with strong oral and written communications skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with common web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, CSS, DOM
  • Knowledge and experience working with Cloud Platforms: AWS or Azure
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Experience with Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Video Technologies (Video players, HLS/DASH, DRM, video transcoding)

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field or related work experience.
