As the UX Design Intern for the HR Strategy Lab, you will work closely with the heads of User Experience Design & Strategy and User Research to solve problems and create consumer-facing quality experiences for our workforce. You are a problem solver who is organized, detailed and extremely collaborative; you will be expected to present to stakeholders and business partners.

You will be a key driver in helping develop a deeper understanding of the pain points, needs, and preferences of our workforce and iterate on deliverables to solve them. This is an enterprise role and one on which business leaders from across the company will come to depend on for insights on leading-edge HR system evolution and the regulations that guide our design requirements.


  • Work within existing style guides and patterns, while continuing to push the envelope for better experiences for our users
  • Provide clear rationale for design concepts and how they align to project goals
  • Creatively help resolve business constraints and challenges through design solutions
  • Clearly articulate design decisions and confidently speak about the rational for design solutions
  • Communicate user journeys by documenting user scenarios, personas, and story boards
  • Use design tools to help present designs to key stakeholders across all levels and disciplines including wireframes and various visual design formats
  • Facilitate design discussions with clear and high-quality outputs

Basic Qualifications

You must be passionate about the future of technology and thrive in an environment that includes a strong balance of independent work as well as working collaboratively within cross-functional teams. You are a strong communicator, open to constructive feedback, have the ability to give constructive feedback, and have an open-mind when it comes to problem-solving.

What You Bring...
  • First experience(s) in a design-related area of study
  • Ability to apply user insights to identify user problem statements and opportunities
  • A passion for the design community, keeping up-to-date with the latest design trends across web and mobile platforms
  • A divergent- and convergent-way of thinking to explore many possible design solutions
  • Strong verbal and written ability to communicate the value of design to product, business, and technology leaders

Required Education

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s (junior or senior) or Master’s Degree program in a design related domain such as architecture, industrial design, graphic design, Human Factors, HCI, Computer Science, Product Design, or Visual Design (or equivalent experience)

Additional Information

  • The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2018 through August 2018
  • Candidate must be available to work full time hours (approximately 35-40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
  • Able to provide own housing and transportation in the Burbank, CA area
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
