As the UX Research Intern for the HR Strategy Lab, you will work closely with the heads of User Research and User Experience Design & Strategy to solve problems and create consumer-facing quality experiences for our workforce. You are a problem solver who is organized, detailed and extremely collaborative and be expected to present to stakeholders and business partners.

You will be a key driver in helping develop a deeper understanding of the pain points, needs, and preferences of our workforce and iterate on deliverables to solve them. This is an enterprise role and one on which business leaders from across the company will come to depend on for insights leading edge HR system evolution and the regulations that guide our design requirements.


  • Deliver reports on user tests, workgroups, surveys, and other similar research work.
  • Seek to contribute toward and learn and wide variety of challenging, and ill-defined issues that are fundamental for product success.
  • Plan research efforts of small complexity features end-to-end.
  • Provide practical implementations of emerging technologies.

What You Bring...
  • The ability to moderate user tests, workgroups, surveys, and other similar research work.
  • Constructive and optimistic.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to explain your research process and findings concisely and effectively.
  • Examples of completed research projects, encompassing User Testing, and Consumer Insights activates, including but not limited to surveys, focus groups, etc.
  • Applied knowledge of User Experience and Research methods and tactics
  • Able to prove excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, both toward internal workers and external people.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced corporate enterprise environment.
  • Ability to work independently and focus on projects as well as work and communicate well with other team members, but unafraid to ask questions.

Required Education

Currently enrolled or recent graduate from a Bachelor’s (junior or senior) or Master’s Degree in a design related domain such as Design Research, Human Factors, HCI, Computer Science or Product Design (or equivalent experience)

Additional Information

  • The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2018 through August 2018
  • Candidate must be available to work full time hours (approximately 35-40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
  • Able to provide own housing and transportation in the Burbank, CA area
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
