Job Summary:

The Walt Disney Company’s International Labor Standards Program (“ILS Program”) seeks to foster safe, inclusive and respectful workplaces wherever Disney-branded products are produced. The ILS Program is an important component of The Walt Disney Company’s social responsibility and responsible supply chain efforts.

The ILS Audit Services team is our internal auditors and audit coordinators based in Guangzhou, China. The teams conducts social compliance audit to assess working conditions against the Disney Code as per Disney's audit standards and protocol. In addition, this team trains and educates facilities on ILS program standards and requirements.

The Trainer reports to the Manager, Audit Services and is responsible for leading remediation initiatives, facility training and capacity-building projects. In doing so, the Trainer supports ILS in communicating ILS program expectations and promoting best practice to facilities producing Disney-branded products with regard to the Disney Code and ILS program requirements. The Trainer may conduct train-the-trainer program and lead other ILS team members in executing training activities in facilities and/or collaborate with external stakeholders on a project basis. This role requires excellent communication, presentation, training and facilitation skills, and a balanced analytical and critical-thinking skill set


  • Supports or leads remediation initiatives, compliance and awareness training and capacity building projects. Provide training to facilities on ILS requirements, remediation guidance and/or best practice in continuous improvement;
  • Monitors and communicates with ILS internal teams and external vendors or service providers on project implementation, as well as project evaluation/impact assessment;
  • Leads ILS peers to execute training program to facilities and guide them to be a qualified trainer (Train-the-Trainer);
  • Other responsibilities may include supporting the Managers on research projects as needed or maintaining knowledge database on training and capacity building projects.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field, or equivalent work experience;
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience in the social compliance field;
  • Hands-on experience in supplier training and/or capacity building projects within global supply chain/operations;
  • Ability to design and deliver supplier training or capacity building projects, as well as project monitoring, evaluation and reporting;
  • Solid knowledge in facilitating training in both corporate and factory environment;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time;
  • Fluency in verbal and written English and Mandarin;
  • Proficiency with PC software application, e.g. Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in industry initiative (e.g. BSR HER Project, Better Work Academy, etc.);
  • Knowledge in social compliance audits to understand issues at factory level to deliver support;
  • Proven experience in project management or developing business case;
  • Ability to work flexible working hours;
  • A balanced analytical and critical-thinking skill set;
  • Ability to communicate across cultures and regions, in writing and in person
