Job Summary:

Assistant Retail Manager – 1 year FTC
  • To provide assistance and support in the management of all on-site aspects of the merchandising business for The Lion King London production.
  • Managing own areas of responsibility as a part of the Merchandise Management Team
  • Manage daily sales floor operations to meet sales, budget & performance goals
  • Manage Inventory including all stock movement, stock orders & delivery, stockroom management & stocktakes
  • Provide training & development for all staff including New Starter Induction, Probation and ongoing performance management
  • Provide consistency in management through duty management, effective communication and working towards shared goals
  • Lead by example in all actions. Represent the Disney values at all times. Conduct business ethically, professionally & responsibly.
  • Deputising for Retail Manager when absent, taking on the appropriate responsibilities of that role and ensuring consistency in Management.


Responsibilities:

Responsibilities
  • Accountable for cast members and Lead/Supervisor on site
  • Creating a positive and driven work environment.
  • Manage daily sales floor operations including: Get Magical incentive, daily team brief planning, promotions/incentives communication, visual merchandising, guest service, kiosk & till maintenance, stationery & supplies, signage and training.
  • Manage Inventory to ensure maximum efficiency & minimal loss; identifying, minimising & managing opportunities for shrink and seeking new ways to manage stock processes to meet required stockholding KPI’s.
  • Using available tools, to best manage the needs of the business. Help identify areas of opportunity or risk, analyse sales and manage staff. Communicate accordingly.
  • Identify opportunities for increased sales & profit and communicate appropriately. Proactively assist in implementation of initiatives, ensuring commitment from others.
  • Using available tools, to train & develop all staff under accountability. Giving all staff an equal opportunity to succeed. Manage New Starter, Induction & Probation process for all new Cast Members.
  • Provide relevant formal & informal feedback on staff performance based on personal observation, escalating when necessary. Celebrating successes at all opportunity and identifying areas of capability or conduct issues. Provide relevant documentation of performance feedback to Retail Manager and communicate effectively.
  • Planning & implementing Quarterly Performance Reviews and managing ongoing staff performance processes
  • Effectively delegating responsibility to Supervisor and relevant Cast Members, ensuring tasks are completed to the required standard. Managing development in others.
  • Communicating required information to key stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner, including handover emails, sales reports, inventory/finance information and performance feedback. Escalate issues where necessary. Demonstrate effective prioritisation.
  • Demonstrating effective time management.
  • Lead by example in all actions. Represent the Disney values at all times. Conduct business ethically, professionally & responsibly.
  • Delegate responsibilities when away from the business. Take on responsibilities when others are away from the business.
  • Complete delegated tasks from Senior Management and Corporate Office, prioritising appropriately and communicating effectively.
  • Deputising for Retail Manager when absent, taking on the appropriate responsibilities of that role and ensuring consistency in management.
  • Ensuring all staff follow the set policies & procedures in all areas whilst Duty Manager or deputising for Retail Manager when absent.
  • Meeting set Sales, Budget & Performance Goals
  • Assisting Retail Manager in implementation & management of sales initiatives, sales drivers & visuals
  • Managing own areas of responsibility in partnership with Senior Managers to meet set KPI’s
  • Accountable for following set Policies & Procedures for business. Including but not limited to:

  • Health & Safety

Basic Qualifications:

Experience
  • Previous retail or theatre management preferred
