Job Summary:

We are hiring for the exciting position of PR Executive. This role falls within the Disney Destinations International Team and will work to support the PR Managers in delivering key PR activity to promote Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line in the UK and Ireland. This role is permanent and will be based in Disney's EMEA Head Offices in Hammersmith, London.
  • To support the PR Managers in delivering key PR activity to promote Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line in the UK and Ireland
  • Execute and manage annual media press trips, celebrity visits, and local events for Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line in the UK and Ireland, in line with business objectives
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the press office, including proactively and reactively generating publicity for DLP, WDW and DCL, accurate and timely reporting, creating media collateral for the UK, tracking and logging of coverage, creating project evaluation presentations, raising POs, reconciling budgets, expenses and overseeing payment of various suppliers
  • Highlighting and managing potentially negative issues or situations to the appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Manage the PR Intern and oversee tasks regarding the day-to-day operations of the Disney Destinations International press office
  • Establish, nurture and maintain a wide variety of media, celebrity, and influencer contacts in the UK and Ireland to deliver beneficial activity and coverage for Disney Destinations Internationals brands
  • Support the PR Managers in the execution and implementation of additional PR projects including organisational support and media relations


  • Execute and manage annual media press trips, celebrity visits, Individual Media Visits (IMVs) and local events for DLP, WDW and DCL in the UK and Ireland:
-Analyse strategic focus of the business and target segments for each press trip
-Work with celebrity agents/celebrities to ensure annual programme of visits designed to drive media coverage
-Keep on top of current celebrity media interest and have strong understanding of which celebrities resonate with specific key audiences for three brands
-Establish, nurture and maintain relationships with celebrity agents, travel and entertainment media, stakeholders and suppliers
-Manage all logistics of trips within a set budget
-Develop itineraries that reflect key messages and strategic purpose for the event
-Work with central partners to ensure all deadlines are met and information supplied is accurate and informative, following required procedures where applicable
-Contribute and integrate social media strategies into all relevant trips, ensuring industry knowledge is current and familiarisation with communication tools used
-Oversee full evaluation of projects including press cutting monitoring, media evaluation and review documents highlighting key learnings to stakeholders

  • Responsible for maintaining the day to day running of an efficient and responsive press office including all processes and reporting:
-Reactively responding to day to day media enquiries and responding to all relevant media alerts and information requests
-Proactively generating publicity, selling in celebrity images and issuing press releases to showbiz and travel media
-Overseeing preparation of weekly activity and cuttings reports
-Ensure the efficient capturing and tracking of coverage so that all files and records are maintained and up to date
-Monitor other destinations/tourist boards/attractions/large brands PR activity to ensure Disney remains a leader
-Work closely with Commercial & Travel Industry Marketing teams to ensure Disney Destinations trade activity is current and top of mind in key travel trade media publications
-Champion halo coverage and circulate negative coverage as quickly as possible
-Maintenance of the online press website for Disneyland Paris, ensuring all material is up to date, photos are accurately tagged and top stories are relevant
-Responsible for raising POs and ensuring that suppliers are paid in timely manner

  • Oversee the PR Intern and the day to day management of the press office for UK and Ireland including:
-Coverage tracking, reporting and analysis
-Driving a media relations programme and Individual Media Visit programme
-Arranging couriers and UPS deliveries
-Newspaper rota

  • Support PR Managers in execution and implementation of publicity plans, including:
-Liaising with destination teams to provide administrative support for in resort projects
-Writing and updating media materials as required including consumer and trade press releases, Q&As, fact boxes etc
-Taking ownership of additional small projects where applicable

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven experience within a PR/Media relations environment at Executive level
  • Experience of working in a highly-pressurised environment
  • Good working knowledge of the UK media including a diverse portfolio of media contacts Strong writing skills across a variety of business and media materials
  • Strong implementer with proven track record of successful delivery of campaigns
  • Good self starter with creative ability and exceptional organisational skills
  • Enthusiastic and creative publicist with hunger for news and media
  • Knowledge of the travel industry and travel media helpful but not essential
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment – experience of matrix structure ideal but not essential
  • Demonstrate enthusiastic approach to product and market
  • Strong project co-ordination skills and ability to handle multiple projects
  • Professional and respectful manner with good relationship-building skills
  • General media management skills
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, e-mail and PowerPoint)
  • French language speaker would be highly beneficial in dealing with our partners in DLP
  • SAP experience beneficial
Agency experience preferable but not essential

Additional Information:

May be travel required from time to time in support capacity.
