Job Summary:

Work with the trading team to effectively plan and trade the e-commerce websites in all markets in order to maximise sales and margin to achieve all targets.


Planning & Trading
  • With the Senior Trade Manager, responsible for planning and delivering the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the e-commerce business, working with all key stakeholders,
  • Work directly with the planning team and Senior Trade Manager to understand product Strategy in order to build ecommerce key performance indicators (KPIs) plans for all e-commerce channels,
  • Responsible for analysis of past performance to deliver effective plans to drive and trade the KPIs and deliver the required sales and margin targets across all sites,
  • Work with the Senior Trade Manager to produce the quarterly ‘playbook’ in-line with the critical path,
  • Be innovative in planning and driving all in-season online promotional activity, maximising sales, margin and all other KPIs, including promotional mechanics and onsite execution,
  • Provide key data insight on franchise, category and markets for planning products and KPIs,
  • Work with the digital marketing teams to build the trade plans, and shift in season in response to trade, commercial promotions that deliver the required sales, margin and traffic targets,
  • Alongside the Site Merchandiser, ensure weekly product launches deliver required sales for the sites,
  • Work with planning on stock distribution changes to maximise sales and margin,
  • Responsible for all e-commerce forecasts issued to the marketing, guest service and distribution centre to allow them to produce accurate costing’s and adjust in-season plans,
  • Plan personalisation sales by market, type and channel. Work with the European Distribution Centre (EDC) to ensure targets are agreed and resourced appropriately,
  • Oversee the Trade Merchandising Assistant in trading the sites, ensuring business plans, priorities and events are effectively communicated to all key stakeholders,
  • Work closely with all key stakeholders to identify and deliver e-commerce opportunities.
  • Drive e-commerce delivery and customer experience strategy for each of the e-commerce markets working with the EDC, guest services and production teams,
  • Support and lead other ad hoc projects as required.

  • Contribute to maintaining and enhancing the standard of training and development, encouraging participation so that everyone has the tools and resources to do their role effectively and efficiently.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Merchandiser within an e-commerce retailer, beneficial,
  • Experience operating within e-commerce, essential,
  • Proven experience of building effective relationships and collaboration across departments and other divisions to achieve financial targets and joint goals,
  • Proven experience of managing and developing the performance of a team
  • Highly numerate,
  • Computer literate in MS office package with advanced Excel skills,
  • Exceptional planning and organisation skills,
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to achieve buy-in at all levels,
  • Analytical, commercial and strategic approach,
  • Exceptional level of accuracy and attention to detail,
  • Proven ability building effective relationships and developing the performance of team members,
  • Cultural sensitivity.

Additional Information:

  • Flexibility for occasional travel may be required,
  • Contribution to ad-hoc projects as the business requires,
  • Flexible hours may be required to meet business needs.
