  • The Owned & Operated Buying Assistant supports the O&O Buying Manager to manage assortment planning and buying of product to enhance storytelling and support site specific needs. You will support the day to day activities of the O&O Buying Manager, manages the assortment plan plan, and coordinates the timeline and work flow

You Will:

  • Manage the day to day activities for the development of the assortment plan to support immersive lands and experiences and guest convenience needs
  • Manage the administrative functions of the buying process to include item set-up, supplier relationships, sourcing and costing, sample management, photo books, and purchase order management.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining assortment range plans.
  • Manage the relationships with external brand partners and vendors.
  • Represent Disney in partnership and communication with external brand staff.
  • Serve as key partner to sites and regional buying teams on line buying needs.
  • Support the Buying Manager on assortment breadth and depth analysis; work with site planning/buying to manage in season performance to maximize results.
  • Be knowledgeable about themed and convenience locations; Do research on mature and emerging brands and products that could support the guest experience
  • React to in-season performance/trends and hindsight performance and learnings to inform future seasons.

  • Product merchandising, specialty retail and product assortment strategy
  • Teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrated positive attitude with the ability to respond to coaching and feedback
  • Strong Team Player – ability to build & foster collaborative partnerships across all functions & departments within The Walt Disney Company
  • Detail oriented with ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Ability to understand key merchandise metrics and business drivers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
