The Retail Creative Concept and Multimedia Designer will report to the Retail Creative Manager.


  • Bring Visual Merchandising strategies to life from concept design through production and installation
  • Generate in-space conceptual renders, 3D models, mood boards, storyboards, style frames, and multiple design explorations as needed for conceptualizing and communicating ideas to collaborators and stakeholders with a high level of accuracy from concept to final installation
  • Develop compelling concepts that innovate and adapt to trends, while sticking to established guidelines, strategies, and branding
  • Lead projects from blue sky pitches through concept approvals, vendor bidding, final art design, graphic production, installation, and continued maintenance all while being cognizant of and within scope, schedule, and budget limits
  • Partner with Visual Merchandising, Store Design, Merchandise Presentation, WDI, Operations teams, and external vendors as needed on all Merchandise initiatives and projects
  • Lead video and motion graphic design of projection and video displays through content conception, video creation, installation, and troubleshooting while having knowledge of and representing the technical and hardware requirements for execution of visuals
  • Stay up to date and research changing industry trends and new technologies that can be applicable within our environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience of concept design, print and graphic production, developing 3D and dimensional display environments, motion graphic and video design
  • Knowledge of visual merchandising, product placement practices, retail design, and marketing principles
  • Ability to realistically and efficiently render ideas in 3D and 2D software, starting with a blank canvas and producing exciting designs that can completely convey intent to various partners and stakeholders
  • Capable handling 3D assets and overseeing their printing, molding, carving, etc. through third party vendors
  • Expertise in print and display materials, color and texture matching, material safety and durability, expenses, etc.
  • Basic understanding of building and fire codes, worker safety, and material and structural properties
  • Strong knowledge of design software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Media Encoder, Adobe Audition, and 3D CAD software such as SketchUp or AutoCAD
  • Ability to create 3D models of environments or display elements based off architectural drawings, field measurements, or proposed dimensions
  • Skilled in creation of motion graphics and video content, often from scratch without any provided assets, and sometimes requiring accompanying audio editing/design
  • Technical understanding of hardware requirements and best practices for digital displays
  • Proven organizational skills; must be proficient in time management with a focus on handling multiple tasks, assigning priorities, and meeting or exceeding deadlines
  • Proven ability to build working relationships, influence all levels by being knowledgeable and credible
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to assess needs and is resourceful in providing solutions
  • Comfortable working late nights, early mornings, and overnight shifts, when needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Seven years of retail concept and multimedia design experience
  • Experience with audio editing, mixing, and mastering
  • 3D video rendering or concept design
  • Knowledge of Retail Industry trends, new technologies and design materials
  • Desire to learn new software applications


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Physical Demands & Environmental/Working Conditions:

  • Must have a valid drivers license and be able to drive a vehicle
  • Some 3rd shift work for installations
  • Should be able to lift over 40lbs
  • Should be able to climb a ladder
