Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, Strategy Long-Range Product Planning at The Walt Disney Company will use strong analytical skills to inform assortment plans that support the global, omnichannel product strategy, ensuring progress toward future vision while also maximizing margin and achieving development metrics. This role reports to the Director, Long-Range Product Planning.

You will partner with Brand Merchants, Sourcing, Planning, Buying, and others to achieve costing and product development metrics, and work with Retail and Commercial teams to achieve long-range, global, omnichannel category plans to promote and lead understanding around brand-led product strategies.

Responsibilities:

Development of Strategic Plans and Metrics:
  • Partner with Brand Merchant team to develop and improve long-range product plans that shape the evolution of the global, omnichannel product profile
  • Contribute to the long-range product plan and multi-year, pan-channel approach to promote global product strategy and associated product development metrics in close partnership with Global Product Creation (GPC) leadership team
  • Collaborate with main partners and team to accomplish future brand-led and consumer-centric product strategy goals using analysis and findings
  • Support creation and maintenance of product development planning tool for brand merchants that enables and guides decision-making and facilitates strategic Goal management
  • Hindsight product creation process through rigorous management of development metrics and goal-setting for future
  • Develop future (2+ years) category productivity plans and targets that align with strategic GPC vision
  • Partner with Sourcing on long-range capacity and supply planning
  • Create and maintain global price list
Provide Line-of-Sight Visibility and Critical Connection across GPC
  • Provide line-of-sight on high-priority programs and daily business issues
  • Communicate and collect support on the approach to achieving long-term product strategy vision, and maintain line of sight visibility across key cross-functional areas to promote optimization and avoid issue areas
  • Participate in seasonal checkpoints and cross-functional milestones with both regional and global teams to ensure agreement on strategic product plans
  • Develop visually compelling presentations (decks and materials) following style guidelines
Drive Direct/Cross-Functional Team Management
  • Identify opportunities for upstream operational efficiencies that support strategic long-range product planning goals in partnership with Merchandising and Sourcing
  • Identify and champion process improvement projects through analysis of current state and development of recommendations for future improvement

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in a related field
  • Organizational, analytical & problem solving capabilities
  • Familiarity with working in—or with—large matrixed organizations
  • Capacity to develop and deliver presentations, including demonstrated competency in creating strong, visually-compelling decks and materials
  • Team player with track record for building strong partnerships with cross-functional teams
  • Expertise in project management to manage and deliver complex projects
