Job Summary:

The ML Synthetic Data Engineer works with the ML/AI team to develop synthetic environments using game engines to generate data for Machine Learning algorithms training and testing. The engineer will also work on tuning and operationalizing algorithms on the cloud and edge deployments. Those algorithms will support a wide variety of applications in computer vision, natural language processing, data analytics, predictions, recommendations, content creation and optimization.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Machine Learning engineers to understand data needs, and build synthetic environments using game engines, such as Unity, for data generation.
  • Procure 3D and graphic assets for the environments building
  • Tune algorithms and Machine Learning models
  • Deploy algorithms, services, and pipelines on Cloud managed services (AWS)
  • Bring traditional software development best practices (unit/integration testing, documentation, service decoupling) to Machine Learning and Synthetic Data development
  • Provide bootstrapping templates for the frequently used ML algorithms and pipelines.
  • Enforce effective cost optimization techniques in cloud, on-prem, and edge environments to minimize the total cost of ownership of the AI services.
  • Participate in formal/informal discussion forums to simplify and evangelize AI/ML.
  • Continually scan the industry and academia for new tools and methods in Machine Learning and Synthetic Data generation. Assist in defining the roadmap and evolution of the platform.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in software development in an agile environment
  • 1+ years of experience in Unity design and development
  • 2+ years of experience in Python
  • Experience in software development best practices (unit/integration testing, CI/CD, service decoupling, component reusability)
  • Working knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, MXNet, Pytorch etc.
  • Working knowledge of AWS - S3, EC2, Lambda, etc
  • Working knowledge of ML model architectures and hyper-parameter tuning.
  • Working knowledge of libraries such as scikit-learn, keras, pandas, svm, xgboost etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in utilizing the Unity platform to build ML/MV Models
  • Illustration skills, or experience building 3D assets for games
  • Experience with web development frameworks (React, Angular)
  • Working knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, MXNet, Pytorch etc.
  • Knowledge of various relational/non-relational databases and storage technologies.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Distributed Computing, Machine Learning, Mathematics or related field, or equivalent work experience
