- This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.
Supports the compliance management system, including regulatory analysis, compliance monitoring, and compliance training pertaining to lending and deposits compliance. Supports legal administrative activities. Monitors and tracks legislative and regulatory developments and communicates new/changed regulatory requirements. Researches and interprets regulations and state statute requirements and potential impact to affected business units. Researches and responds to compliance and policy and procedure interpretation from other business units. Gives advice and make suggestions on how to mitigate risk exposure in alignment with established risk appetites and risk tolerances. Administers the notary and medallion stamp programs. Responsible for administrative duties of all Credit Union Policies and Procedures and Disaster Recovery Website.
Assists with the overall implementation of the Credit Union’s Compliance Management System and with the ongoing administration of the Credit Union’s compliance risk management program.
Monitors legislative and regulatory developments and maintains awareness of regulatory requirements.
Researches, interprets, and communicates regulatory requirements and potential impact to affected business units. Partners with leadership to develop necessary action plans.
Researches and responds to compliance inquiries and policy and procedure interpretation requests from other business units.
Applies the application of risk metrics, key risk indicators and methodologies in the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of risk exposures.
Implements the annual compliance monitoring review cycles and produces related reporting. Performs monitoring and testing in support of the Credit Union’s Compliance Management System. Prepares analysis of the monitoring and testing results and prepares draft reports, makes recommendations for corrective action, and assigns risk severity levels to review findings. Reports on any suspected violations of law, regulations or non-compliance to Credit Union policy and takes responsibility to ensure resolution.
Assists with annual development of the enterprise compliance training plan and the annual enterprise-wide compliance risk assessment.
Provides administrative support for legal functions regarding legal demands and lawsuits, legal opinions, power of attorney and subpoena validity, in coordination with general counsel and/or outside counsel as needed.
Administers notary and medallion stamp programs.
Maintains and updates all compliance related policies and procedures to ensure continued applicability and completeness. Works with various departments/managers on procedures that incorporate compliance requirement in the procedures.
Ensures compliance related forms and disclosures are reviewed and updated on a periodic basis.
P&P Administration (tracking for expiration date, contact/reporting to business owners, upload approved policies to Core and Disaster Recovery Site)
Reviews marketing material for compliance with applicable regulations.
Provides support for regulation examinations. Assist in preparing material and resources for regulatory examinations.
Supports internal/external audit requests related to compliance management system.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Attends meetings as required.
Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
Completes necessary training to remain current with regulatory changes.
Maintains a good understanding and adheres to Partners FCU policies and procedures, NCUA, Federal and State regulations.
Provides cross functional support for the Risk Management department as needed.
Associates Degree in Business-related field
3-5 years of progressive experience in regulatory compliance in financial institutions related to financial products and services (deposit accounts and loan products)
1-3 years working knowledge of assessing and managing compliance risk in financial services industry and risk assessment principles.
Minimum 3 years recent experience in a compliance role for a financial institution with a strong working knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to deposit and lending products
Proficient technical writing skills- presenting ideas in a clear, concise, understandable, and organized manner.
Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
Working knowledge of banking laws and regulations
Proficient data compilation and analysis skills
Effective planning, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
Flexibility and willingness to work within time frames/deadlines
Skilled at handling a variety of assignments simultaneously
Previous experience performing Compliance Management System functions in financial institutions
Previous experience reviewing operations functions, processes, and procedures
Understanding of and/or experience in the financial industry
Demonstrate the ability to analyze risk severity levels, perform reviews and summarize results for reconciling items. Able to work independently and exercise a high degree of initiative
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications like Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Demonstrates leadership through skillful and effective written and oral communication. Undertakes continuous self-development of both functional and leadership skills
Demonstrates ability to think critically and apply a balanced approach to compliance risk as it relates to strategic objectives, opportunities, and organizational projects
