We Are…
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team resides within the Public Affairs division of Walt Disney World Resort. We collaborate with internal partners and lines of business across the entire company to help address the most critical areas of need within our local communities. We create magic inside of our parks by granting wishes to critically ill children and their families. We also extend the magic of Disney into our communities through volunteering and making significant financial and non-financial investments and support the missions of organizations that make a difference every day in the lives of those around us.

Responsibilities:
You’ll gain experience working across multiple areas to help create synergy and build dimension to our initiatives, which ultimately leads to lasting positive impacts in our communities. You will also assist with project management, issue management, project/program strategy and implementation, special events, and executing relevant tactics as assigned.

Make an impact by…

  • Assist with the identification and tracking of local, regional, and national issues relevant to Walt Disney World through research and analysis
  • Work with community nonprofits to better understand their needs, challenges and barriers
  • Provide support for internal processes to help bridge the gaps of community needs through in-kind donations, uniquely Disney support and grants
  • Work with internal and external partners to plan, support and execute special events, Disney VoluntEARS events, and Cast campaigns and drives
  • Telling the Disney CSR story in a creative and relative way to help boost a positive reputation and share awareness to the impact we make and efforts we support
  • Additional project work as assigned by External Affairs leadership
     

Basic Qualifications:

  • What you bring to the role…
  • A passion for making magic, helping to serve communities, and making a difference for communities, children and families
  • A self-motivated, creative thinker with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and execute with excellence
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Critical thinking or analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function in an ambiguous work environment
  • Ability to work well with diverse groups, synthesizing various points of view that lead to consensus and influence decision-making
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Mac Operating System environment
  • Experience with social media – writing, research
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience volunteering with or supporting nonprofit causes
  • Previous writing experience in a professional setting
  • Understanding of current and emerging issues with the potential to impact Walt Disney World
  • Strong creative skills with demonstrated ability in Adobe Creative Cloud to design and develop collateral presentations
  • A writing sample is highly encouraged for this position. Please attach a sample to your cover letter or include a link in your resume.

Required Education:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • You’ll be an undergraduate or a recent graduate (within 6 months of your graduation date) pursuing a degree in Nonprofit Management, Journalism, Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, Public Affairs, Public Administration, Political Science or a related or other related fields

Additional Information:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
  • This internship is a hybrid position - Must be able to provide a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace
  • Program length - The approximate dates of this internship are June 2023 - January 2024
  • Work details - Must be able to work FULL TIME hours (approximately 40 per week) for the duration of the internship
  • Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
