Job Summary:

Walt Disney World Communication Strategy proactively focuses on providing our Guests with relevant, timely and accurate communication through collateral to help Guests navigate and maximize their stay. In this internship, you will create and assist in the design of printed communication tactics provided to Guests at the Walt Disney World Resort. You will work with a team of graphic designers to create high-impact and high-visibility graphics for our Guests throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.

A Day in the Life…
  • Update and develop the design for both existing and new collateral
  • Partner with overall Communication team, internal partners and print vendors
  • Maintain and improve existing communication vehicles, such as in-room and Park collateral
  • Provide visual, engaging graphic solutions with a moderate level of direction and oversight
  • Think outside-the-box to creatively solve problems and bring new ideas to the table

Basic Qualifications:

You Bring
  • Demonstrated graphic design experience and a strong portfolio to showcase a well-rounded skillset
  • Recognized expertise developing strategic creative solutions
  • Experience collaborating with leadership, design teams, clients, and other strategic partners
  • Committed attention to detail and knowledge to adhere to brand guidelines
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) and Microsoft Office
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information
  • Determination to learn new things

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous reporting/writing/editing experience with a student or professional publication in print, television or online media
  • Experience with Associated Press writing style
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills
  • Previous experience in print production
  • Previous experience as a Disney Cast Member

Required Education

  • Currently enrolled as a junior or higher pursuing (or recently graduated with) a degree in Communications, Visual Communications, Graphic Design, Fine Art or a related major

    • Cover Letter and Resume– these documents should clearly indicate how you meet the required and desired qualifications for the position. The cover letter should include a statement explaining your career goals and provide an overview of your skills.
    • **An electronic online portfolio is required as part of this application process. This portfolio must be included as a URL link listed on your resume, any other portfolio submissions will not be considered.**

Internship Eligibility:
  • At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from an accredited college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continuous employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability
  • Must provide own transportation to/from work
  • Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)

Program Length:
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2020 through January 2021. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.

Housing: A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
